Pharoh Ideas?Hi!
I just got the part of pharoh in my school production. I kinda wanted Joseph but having looked at the people cast it makes sense that I got pharoh. Anyways I really want to be an actor and go into musicals etc... I really want to impress the director I'm working with because she works in the West End and she is a great contact to have. Does anyone have any ideas how I could really impress with the Pharoh (as in do it in an original way or just how to play it really well.)
I have a pretty good voice and so I'd like to try and show off a bit (heehee)
Any advice would be much appreciated so please reply.
Thanks!!!!

my advice on first of all good impressions is to do your best but dont over try cos if you try too hard it looks desperate and no one likes that never be cockey something my drama / singing teacher learnt. just be urself and od ytourbest always be on the ball and be as confident as possible. give your ideas across when neccesary. about the part he is kinda kool relaxed and yet anxious i mean really he is like meant ot be an elvis impersonation as the song and everyproduction i have seen has made noticeable

Thanks! I'll try that. I knew about the elvis thing I guess it sorta steals the show anyway. Any other ideas anyone?

Make your act smooth and confident, but please be natural, like what Joshie said, don't be overconfident and think of steps more original but has the taste of The King of Rock n Roll...
Aight!

ooh pharoah - fabulous. how to impress the director......? I can't say I'm an expert 'coz I only do amateur stuff, but if I was going to try to impress someone, I would make sure I was professional, always listen when they are talking, always arrive on time, never get impatient if you have to run a scene a hundred times or if the directors attention has to be directed at someone who isnt quite pulling their weight. Little things, but I guess they make a big difference. No-one wants to work with an unprofessional jerk, even if they are fantastic.
And you say you have a good voice and are a good actor, so I'm sure you'll be able to play the pharoah with a lot of energy which should help to convince everyone that you are good enough.
Good Luck x

I was phaoroh in my highschool's production. And let me tell you, it is a TON of fun. Be sure to watch a lot of Elvis, which I believe was already mentioned, but it is very important. When I did it, we had all of the girls swooning over me like I was Justin Timberlake and at one point I gave away parts of my clothes, so maybe you could give that a try. I even pulled some of the girls out of the crowd and danced with them a tad. Just have fun with it. It will be phenominal!
