Phantom The Las Vegas Spectacular review

So I'll try not to make this too long but I just wanted to let you all know what I thought of it, and sorry if there are typos, i'm too lazy to proofread.

Alright, well first of all the theatre at the Venetian was absolutely gorgeous. When you first go in at the beginning of the show you see three pieces of the chandelier hanging apart from each other and the walls are all covered with grey curtains. When the overture starts, the lights go off and the pieces of chandelier float around and assemble themselves in the air and then go rest up at the top of the ceiling. It's really quite magnificent as the chandelier is at least twice as big as anyone I've ever seen.
After the chandelier assembles the grey curtains on the wall start to rise up revealing the theatre walls which are all decked out in gold and velvet with statues and what not. And they actually have like fake people in the boxes on the side of the walls which I thought was pretty cool. They're basically the same type of figurines they have on the stairs during masquerade.
Okay now as far as the actors go

The Phantom (Brent Barrett): I thought that Brent did a pretty good job for the most part. He singing was definitely spot on, his acting was a little over the top in some parts but the phantom probably should be over the top, I don't really have anything to complain about him

Christine (Elizabeth Loyacano): Elizabeth definitely brought a lot of personality to the role which is always good because I think Christine often comes across lacking in personality. My one complaint about Elizabeth was that whenever she tried to sing high, I thought her voice sounded way to bright and nasally. Her singing wasn't as operatic as a lot of Christine's make it, I don't if that's a good or bad thing really.

Raoul (Tim Martin Gleason): I'll be the first to admit, I'm definitely a phantom over Raoul girl. However I thought this guy really did a good job. He made Raoul seem very charming and clever. Raoul seemed to really care about Christine and really want to protect her, not just capture the phantom. I definitely liked him a lot.

Carlotta (Geena Jefries Mattox): Not much to say about Carlotta, She was really good. Lots of personality and a great voice

Andre and Firmin (John Leslie Wolfe and Lawson Skala): I liked these guys a lot. They brought a lot of humor to the role. They worked well together and worked off of each other a lot.

Madame Giry (Rebecca Spencer): Honestly I didn't really like her that much. I feel like Madame Giry is supposed to be somewhat reserved and I felt like she overacted the role a lot. Just in like lots of little things she would over emphasize things. I don't know, she just annoyed me a lot.

Meg Giry (Brianne Kelly Morgan): I liked her a lot. She brought a much more child like quality to meg which I though was interesting. Her singing wasn't that great but from what I read about her she has had a lot more training in dancing then singing. She brought a lot more personality to meg and made the character much more likable. Because honestly I usually find Meg kind of annoying.

Now as far as the rest of the production went I was overall pretty impressed. The sets are amazing, they really went all out. Like they had actually fireworks before masquerade which was cool because i've never seen fireworks in doors before. They did a lot of cool things with lights but a lot of times the light were often so bright that it sort of blinded me but i don't really know if there is a way around that.

The one thing that really disappointed me was the chandelier fall. For one thing it fell after point of no return but I already knew that was going to happen. But when it fell, instead of crashing into the stage in basically sort of dropped straight down for second and then went back up. It was almost humorous in a way, but not dramatic at all.

As far as lyric cuts go, there were a lot. It didn't really bother me though. I don't think it took away from the plot of the story at all.

My dad went to see it in February. He said that is was really good, but the only difference between that and seeing it anywhere else was how the stage and theatre were built for the show.

Tim Martin Gleason...wasn't he on Broadway until recently?

He's been with the Vegas production since it opened. But he was Raoul in the Broadway company immediately prior to that.

From the reviews I've read out of Vegas, he seems to improved with the change. I always liked him in general...fine voice. But his acting was an issue for me. 99% of the time, he was too angry...he'd rant his was through "All I Ask of You." And, when the noose was on in Final Lair, he didn't react or struggle or anything. He just "hung" there and I used to joke they could've used a dummy for that bit.

He is apparently returning to the Broadway company, though.

Does Brent Barrett play in the same shows? Meaning, does he have certain shows and certain times? Are certain shows just designated for his performances? Well, do you even have a slight idea if he does?

I am asking because I really want to get there to see that, but I want to see Anthony Crivello (he's a native from my hometown Smile ) in the show. I have no idea of how to go about getting the tickets for the show because I can't find out anywhere which actor is the Phantom for which performance.

What performance was he in when you saw it? Maybe I will be able to figure something out.

I saw it tuesday night and I believe the Phantom was played by Anthony Crivello. I'm pretty sure you can't find out who preforms on what night.
I hope you enjoy the show!!
