Phantom replacement

If you were to replace Howard Mcgillin for the Broadway Production. Who would you chose?
mastachen

Anthony Warlow or John Owen-Jones

Jeremy Stolle

Oh did you see him as Phantom? I only saw him as Raoul...and thought he was better then TMG.

I'd rather Anthony Warlow take up new projects in Australia. I wish they'd record a full Australian cast album. (I think the production is moving to NZ so we still have hope Razz).
Pannic

Richard Todd Adams
MunkustrapQC

Brian Stokes Mitchell (Could bring something different to the role... can he reach those high notes? Confused hum... )

Tim Martin Gleason (saw him as the understudy... wow)
Quique

Davis Gaines.

Gaines was a very good Anthony in the 2000 Sweeney Todd Concert...I'd pay to see him do POTO.

My dream replacement: Hugh Panaro

A more realistic choice for a replacement (but still a dream choice): John Cudia (saw him in Toronto and he knocked my socks off)
Paula74

I'll second the recommendation for Tim Martin Gleason.

Part of me would like to see him back in the role - I saw him well over a dozen times in his final year. But I'm more interested in seeing him in a range of roles...loved him in Company and he was magnificent as Valjean...and I'm really excited about the role he's got coming up in the spring, though it hasn't been made official yet.

I third it! His voice is better for the role of the Phantom than for Raoul, IMO.

He played the Phantom in L.A. I believe.

I would love to see him return to the role, from what I've seen/heard, he's really good. Smile

I saw Gains in LA. He was OK, but no where near as good as Michael Crawford. Gains seemed uncomfortable in the parts of the show where he needed to be high over stage, like when he is singing "I gave you my music" from atop the perch on the angel.

Well I'm not too much of a fan of His Phantom or his Anthony manily because his voice is too dark for my liking.
OldDeuteronomy

my top 5 choices would be:
Hugh Panaro
Michael Crawford
Davis Gaines
Franc D'ambrosio
Colm Wilikinson

^I would love to see Crawford back on Broadway as the Phantom, but he's probably a little too old for the role now.
Disney-Bway27

I've yet to hear any Phantom that's better than Crawford, but Hugh Panaro's a very close second.
Toasterphantom

Matt Farcher. I expect to see him there one day.
