I've seen this film (or at least, the last 30 mins.) several times. I'm not sure what to think about it.

I know it's totally removed from the original story, but one or two songs are okay.

Was this only a film or was it on the stage? Someone told me it played the West End, but never got to Broadway.

I need more info on this show.

What do you guys think about it?

It was a movie just based off the book.

It was meant to be a joke and it isn't the worse movie out there.
Though I think Phoenix is one of the most annoying Christine-based characters ever.
Phantom's face is one of the best ones out there.

It's a camp pastiche of the story. There were admittedly one or two songs that were ok as you said, the rest of the film was dire though.

I've never heard of this... is it just some old movie that you could never find to rent?

I got it from my online DVD rental people www.screenselect.co.uk I'm sure if you have a similar franchise in the US you could get it.
