I completley understand you. My friends are all into pop, and I'm the only one listening to "track down this murderer" on my i pod. I feel so alone lol!

Unfairness of life: I yearn to see the full Phantom onstage. I've seen the movie and the 90-minute Vegas version, but never the full version on a proper stage. My best friend, who doesn't even LIKE broadway, saw it with (so she claims) Michael Crawford when she was younger... and she fell asleep and doesn't remember a single thing! GRR!

Oh my God, I love POTO too!!! My mum had the LP when I was growing up so I really did grow up with this musical!! I want to play Christine so much!!!! I love opera and classical crossover and all show tunes and classical but I don't know many people like that... I've managed to convince my little sister and now she's half as mad about musicals as I am!!!
p.s. I'm thinking of going to Dartington too!

You're so not alone! Most of my friends hate Broadway and Theatre. They all listen to pop, rock, rap, hip-hop, and all the other stuff (or trasdh as I call it). Then there's me who listens to Opera, Classical, Soundtracks, performers (broadway and opera) and showtunes! I rarely listen to anyrthing other then those. I grew up (even when I was in my mother womb) listening to Opera, Sarah Brightman, Michael Crawford and Phantom. It's no wonder I'm in love with theatre so much! I was bread into it, and do I love it! My whole family consists of Opera singers, composers (famous ones too like Edvard Greig), Artists, Musicans, etc. They get annoyed when I tell them "Ï need to practice my instruments and my conducting"or "Ï need to practice my Italian Arias and POTO music" or the classic "I can't....rehearsal."

you are very lucky. I am the ONLY person I know who really loves musical theatre. There's definitely no young people around my area who are into it.

Welcome to my World. I'm thirteen, and go to a small school in North Carolina. NO ONE even knows what I'm talking about. Dosen't help that I've been obsessed with the Phantom of the Opera since I was 8 and musical theatre in general is my goal and purpose in life.

My best friend loves musical theatre (or has actually heard more of it than High School Musical)... and this girl who graduated this year who I heard singing "I Remember..." from POTO in the hallway between classes, but we're pretty much the only people in my school.
My closest friends are the ones in my youth theatre group, though. I only hang out with the best. *haughty sniff*

I only know a few people that like musicals just about as much as I do. I seriously CANNOT stand the junk people listen to today. Musicals, movie soundtracks, classical/orchestrated music is my kind of music.

Make that three times.
Anyway, I saw Phantom on Broadway June 18th and thought that although it was a good show with excellent special effects (considering the original London production was produced in 1986), it is a bit overrated. I suppose everyone just loves a good love story.

I wonder if the 'other people' know more than you give them credit for .
