PHANTOM JR.You know how there are all those Jr. versions of musicals?
I had an idea for PHANTOM JR. once. Basically, it was a quasi adaption of the original. Phantom Jr. is of junior high school age. He plagues a dance school run by Meg Giry. The main characters were Christy, Phantom Jr, and a dashing foreign exchange student that I never named (Raoul). Essentially, it's a watered-down version of the Phantom of the Opera storyline with less violence and intrigue. There was a lot of that junior high "do you love me, check yes or no" stuff going on. You know, easily hurt feelings, etc. It almost functioned as a parody of the original, which I love.
The best part of it was that when Phantom Jr was unmasked at the end, it is revealed that he has...moderately bad acne beneath.
I dunno, I thought it was vaguely clever once.

Or Phantom Jr could have burned himself on a bunson burner in chem class...XD

I kind of wanted it to have that "social pariah due to his appearance" element on a "Jr" level.
A local director always told me if I finished writing it they'd put it on, but I never got around to completing it.

Maybe I'll try to work it up for 2009.

Makes me want to puke. It's more the idea of a junior Phantom and all that, not neccesarily your creativity.

Eh, I wouldn't call it "creative". It's just an homage/parody that would allow younger actors the chance to act out some of the dynamics found in Phantom. It's not something springing from the depths of my soul.
