Peter Pan Audition

I know I'm double posting, but I really need help and i think this is a better spot for my problem. I know that some of this info might be throughout the site, but i'm in a bit of a hurry. I have a Peter Pan audition in a few weeks, and i need a song and a 1-2 min monologue. The song is supposed to be from the Musical Theater Anthology, but i'm stumped. I'm 5'5", brown hair, with a pretty wide range. I was think of auditioning for Tiger Lily or maybe Wendy. Any help, with either the monologue or the song would be wonderful! Thanks so much!

Before I can help you I need to know what version of Peter Pan you are auditioning for - there are several. Is it the 50's version that Comden and Green wrote?? It makes a huge difference when recommending songs...

I'm not sure, but i know it was the one with Cathy Rigby & Mary Martin.

Ah ok yes that was the 50's version, so you want a song written between 1940-1965. And it has to be from the singers musical theatre anthologies, right? What are your ideas so far from there? What build are you? And what is your dance standard like? And how old?

I'm average build i suppose, about 128 lbs. I'm 15 soon to be 16. I've had a lot of dance experience including 7 yrs of tap, 4 of ballet, 3 of jazz, and 6 of traditional irish. I pick things up really quickly too Having a song from the musical theater anthologies is strongly advised.

Sounds to me like you would make a good Tiger Lily. Check out all songs in the anthologis excluding all Sondheim and anything written afer 1969 and before 1940 and see what you can come up with. Smile

I was looking through the books and some i found were:
Look to the Rainbow - Finian's Rainbow
Cockeyed Optimist - South Pacific
As long as he needs me - Oliver!
But that's about it. Does anyone know of any good monologues?
JIJane

I like Look to the rainbow. As for monologues - check out the rest of JM Barrie's plays (he wrote Peter Pan) and see what you can find.
