Peter Pan- adult roles?

I've just moved to a new state, and a community theater in my area is doing "Peter Pan" this fall; auditions are next month. The notice on the website doesn't say whether it is a musical or play or what, just says "A family show" or something.

So, in a community theater with all age ranges, what would be the adult (female) roles? Or, is everything sort of gender non-specific, like female pirates and lost boys and such? And is Tink usually cast as a young person or adult? I've never seen this show and know nothing about it except what was on MTA.com about the musical.

The other question too, is: I have a feeling the auditions for a professional company will be at about the same time, or maybe right after (they haven't announced them yet). If I have to choose between small community theater where I will probably get cast, and a professional theater where I have no idea if I will get cast or not, and both are new theaters that I've never worked with before, which do I pick? I don't want to get cast in PP and then ditch, but I don't want to hold out for professional theater and not be in anything. Confused both of these would be the last chance for a theater show until next summer.

Mrs. Darling is Wendy and the other kids' mom. check out www.stageagent.com and see if they have ranges there.

in the production I saw of it, they used a flashlight looking thing for tink, and had little bells ring for her being mad or whatever.

Sometime the dog is played by a person, and age doesnt really matter for that part

Peter can be played by a woman too.

and I'm guessing you could be an indian chorus member too depending on what you look like.
