Paul

at the end when he hurts his leg he dosent make it right? who makes it then?
what_the_heck013

No, he does not make it.

I know that Diana and Cassie do make it. I don't remember who else.
musialman

i really think he should have made it another question is he the 2nd male lead under the director
what_the_heck013

He can't... he can't dance anymore... his leg is broken. Honestly, I don't like to think about "leads" in ACL. Paul is definitely one of the more famous characters in the show and an audience favorite.

The people that make it are Cassie, Bobby, Diana, Judy, Val, Mike, Mark and Richie.

I agree that there are no "leads" in the show-- isn't that the point of ACL? That the chorus is just as important ("This show is for anyone that danced in a chorus line or marched in step...anywhere.")??
And if we are discussing "leads"-- why would zach the top one anyway? His spoken lines are as minimal as everyone else's and only dances in the finale and opening number and sings in the finale.
Leads. Psh.

Yes, you're exactly right about not having leads. There are no leads in this show at all. In fact, when the time came, my director had trouble placing people in order for bows so we just did it in height order, lol! I love that about this show and the message behind it and I think that's really what makes it so unique and different from other plays and musicals, besides the fact that it's only one act and the almost the entire cast is on stage almost the whole time.

Now that I think about it... It would be really neat if the characters chosen at the end were chosen at random and have a different set for each show.

I don't think it's closing because I just checked the website and they're allowing you to buy tickets up to July 2007. What a relief....... :]

I think that, too--although Cassie needs to make it because of her story.

Regarding the "leads" or lack thereof--note that in the program (or every program I've seen, which is many times), the characters are listed in alphabetical order by the ACTOR, so it's not as if Zack or Cassie (etc) is first. Even the "walk-ons" (the ones who don't make the first cut, "boy in the headband", etc) are listed right along with everyone else; there is no "hierarchy" whatsoever, which I think makes a very cool point.

We listed ours in order of appearance as much as possible according to the script (who speaks,or is seen first); as far as the 'bows' go, it is pretty much given to you in the script as well- there are no curtain calls.
