Paul Jones in 'Cats'BLUES BAND singer Paul Jones has taken a month's sabbatical from the group to join the cast of the hit musical "Cats".He took over the role of the Rum Tum Tugger from Paul Nicholas on April 26 -- but his feline persuits are not going to interrupt the Blues Band's programme. Blah blah blah.. something about the band.... will record the band's new album during the daytime next month, expecting to have it completed by May 22 when he ends his "Cats" run. Joining "Cats" marks Paul Jones's fourth association with the musical's composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber. He has played the lead in three productions of "Joseph", sang as Peron in the "Evita" sountrack alubm and played harmonica on Marti Webb's "Tell Me on a Sunday". Well I can tell you his voice leaves a lot to be desired a lot of the time in his musical singing. I have several show cd's with him on...joy!
He is not that well known really, but he is heard of over here, more for his older band stuff. He is also getting on in life these days! |

Yeah he is on a fair few of the cheaper type musical Cd's collections. I also have him on Evita, Blondel (he was the lead there), and various of the cheaper collections I was saying about. | ||

-if any UK person where to mention his name to their parents, it's fairly likely they will have heard of him and probably even have an old album of his in some cases. I only know a lot about him due to him being involved with musical theatre later on in his life. |
