Patti LuponeI have only heard little snippets of her singing as Eva, but those snippets were great. I have the OLC of Les Miserables in which she sings Fantine, and I enjoy that too. Which do you think she performed better in?

Personally, I prefer Patti LuPone as Eva, though I do enjoy her Fantine as well. My reasoning is because her Eva is really sharp and strong whereas her Fantine sounds a wee bit slurred to me. But I like the little trill she does on "When the tigers come a-a-t night" in IDAD. But her Evita rocks my socks.

Eva . . . she doesn't sound warm enough at times in her Fantine, but her Eva is pretty perfect.

i love her as both actually, and she's definitely my favorite Fantine. however, my favorite Eva is Elaine Paige, so...
well, Patti is still awesome though!

She's not my favourite performer in either role but I think her work is good in both shows. I think her work on Les Miserables is slightly better than her work in Evita, even though the latter role is obviously more complex and difficult.
