Patti LuPone's mailing address???It is my understanding that this is Patti LuPone's mailing address for fan mail and autographed pictures and such:
Meadowlark Productions
PO Box 2520
New Preston CT, 06777
I've heard of people hearing back from her very quickly----which makes me suspicious. First of all, because she's in NYC and the mailing address is in CT, and second of all, she is an extremely busy woman. I don't see how Meadowlark Productions could send the picture all the way to NYC, have her autograph it and get it back to the fan within a few short weeks, unless Patti LuPone has nothing else to do other than spend her days autographing fan mail. Third of all, because I hear she is a very condescending woman towards her fans and I doubt she would devote that much time to fan mail.
Is there any tangible evidence that the person autographing those pictures is, in fact, the real Patti LuPone?
Being that Patti worshipper that I am, I'm considering sending a picture to autograph, but before I do anything, I want to be 100% sure that it is actually her....

I've emailed her before (there is an email address on her website for questions and such) and heard back that same day. If it really was her, she couldn't have been nicer and funnier.
As far as autographed pictures, (And this is the "glass half full" point of view) it's possible that she signed a large amount in advance and gave them to her agent for such requests. You could also write her at the St. James and ask for an autograph. Just be sure to include an envelope to be sent to your mailing address big enough for a headshot.

But seriously, I've seen pictures autographed where she addressed the sender directly, like "For Katie. Love, Patti LuPone" or "For Marcus. Love, Patti LuPone"
Also, someone told me that they've never seen her at a stage door where she HASN'T been rude to at least one fan. I don't know, it just doesn't seem to add up that she could be nice and funny to her fans over the internet and sign thousands of photographs through the mail and be rude to them in real life. (And you must understand that I'm being the devil's advocate here.)

Honestly. Actors are human, too. They have bad days and days when they simply aren't in a good mood, and for no reason. I know it happens to me!
This person who said they've never seen LuPone NOT be rude...how many shows of hers could they have possibly been to? If it is a lot, perhaps they were just extremely unlucky and caught her on off days. It happens. It doesn't necessarily mean she is mean to fans.
Where else has anyone heard of her being "condescending?" Can you tell me specifically?
And until I have read or seen tangible instances where she has been like that, I'll have no opinion on any of this. I will simply remember that LuPone is a human being, and sometimes humans are not nice. Most of the time they are. But the change from one attitude to another is what makes us human!
Just stick these thoughts in your pockets, folks...

I've heard of her being rude at the stage door, but I've also heard of her having an extremely sarcastic sense of humor, which I'm sure could be misconstrued as "rude"...On other musical-related forums, I've seen people state that "once in their lives, they'd like to be yelled at by Patti LuPone", to paraphrase...no wonder she isn't completely sweet and nice to everyone all the time, if some are out just to get that from her. Perhaps she was only having a bad day or whatever when these fans saw her being rude or condescending.
As for my own experience, I've only corresponded with her through e-mail. I was polite and she was very sweet and kind to me in replying and helping me out with whatever question I'd asked her. I won't believe that she's a complete diva at the SD when there are so many accounts of her being unbelievably gracious to her fans.

I've heard she commutes from CT every day... which is probably why she has no time at the stage door.
