So, I may or may not (depending on the outcome of another audition) be auditioning for a community theatre production of The King and I.

I would really like to know what roles I am eligible for. I haven't seen the show since I was very young. I looked up the roles on Stageagent and it gave the age range of Tuptim as 15 to 21, but that looked like the only part for a girl my age.

Here is a description of me. I posted it first in the "What character would suit you?" thread.

Appearance
Age: 16 years old
Height: 5'1"
Body type: 90 pounds, very slender but not stick-like
Skin tone: Very fair, naturally
Hair: Bright red, halfway down my back (willing to cut it)
Eye color: Very dark brown

Voice
Part: Soprano 1 or Mezzo, occasional 1st Alto
Range: G3 to C6, comfortably... can stretch a few notes either way
Type: Ranges from classical style to belt

Dance
Types: Jazz, ballet
Training: Several years of jazz and ballet, 2 years of tap
Ability: Light to moderate, somewhat heavy- not very flexible
I no longer tap, but could pick it back up with training.

Acting
For previous roles, see my signature
I am very good at playing "dramatic" roles-- you know, crying, death, all that jazz But I am also good at playing the "ingenue" and the "brat".




So what do you all think? Any feedback is appreciated.

Also, I have just come across the dancers Eliza, Little Eva and Little Topsy. Are these parts that I could play?

I am now DEFINITELY auditioning for The King and I. However, they are probably pre-casting Tuptim, so that's not really an option. Are there any other parts for me? Answers GREATLY appreciated!

Tuptim is the only singing character of your age group. but all the ballet characters are great , eliza has the most dancing and stage time. tuptim only dances when in chorus scenes such as the classroom.
