Part to try out for?We are putting on Into the Woods at my middle school. Therefore, all roles will be played by 12 and 13 year-olds. I am one of the older girls. I have been cast as Jack's Mother in a different performance. My vocal range is from the G below middle C to the G two octaves above the G below middle C. (Does that make sense?) Appearances don't affect the casting. I have always been told that my singing is very good, but my acting is fantastic. It is possible for girls to be cast in male parts. Suggestions?

Based on the character ranges I've seen listed on other sites, you can play any of the female characters except for the witch and Rapunzel. Since you are one of the older females that will be auditioning I guess you might be more likely to get Jack's Mother again, or the Baker's Wife, although the witch is only one note out of your range so if you work on it you could probably easily play her too.

Could you post a link to one or two of those sites? I've been looking all over for the character ranges and I can't find anything.
EDIT: Okay, I've decided. Either Little Red or the Witch.
