Hey guys, just wondering, does Gladys in The Pajama Game have to be an amazing dancer? I know she sings Hernando's Hideaway, but that's about it. Any info on the character would be amazing, we're thinking of doing this show at my high school, and I'm just curious to see what the role requires. Thanks!

Any production worth its salt will have a great dancer as Gladys. Obviously in high school asking for a pro dancer isn't going to work, but she is a quintessential dance role.

Both of our Gladys' were great dancers but I'm sure that if the girl cast as Gladys was not, you could always work around that. She does have a dance solo in Once a Year Day and leads Steam Heat and Hernando's Hideaway however.
