Pajama Game or Damn Yankees?

I'm starting to research the shows that will be done in my community theatres next spring and summer. These are scheduled. Any comments on which show might be more fun of the two? I'm a 30-something mezzo, solid singer and I love to dance. I'm not sure if I would fit in either cast.

I have two very young children and only would want to take time for one show if I do any at all. Pajama Game runs first in the spring by a community theater where the auditioning will be easier, then Damn Yankees is in the summer with a higher level group where getting in the show would be much more competitive.

I am looking forward to getting movies of both shows to see what they're like. I auditioned once at the 2nd, more competitive theater, and I love their choreographer. That said, the dancing may be more difficult then I can handle, more geared toward real dancers than amateurs. But I would enjoy an audition even if I don't get to do the show.

OK, since I haven't had access to the video store yet, I've been watching You Tube clips of both shows. Even though I'm not sure it's appropriate copyright wise, I'm enjoying seeing different performances and getting more of a feel for the music.

I don't care for some of the Pajama Game music, but would love to do the steam heat number. I also like the song "I'm not in love at all".

I love Lola from Damn Yankees. It would be a fun goal to audition for that role, even though it's highly unlikely I would get it.

I'm going to use auditions as a motivator to get much more serious about my workouts at the gym.

Also, I'm thinking "I'm gonna wash that man right outta my hair" might be a decent audition song for the Pajama Game. It's easy and kind of boring, but it could be done playfully.
