our costumes

these are the costumes we are using - they were designed for Pioneer in Utah for 2 xmas's, then went to maine State this summer. Now the designer is here in AL so she is repairing them

They look pretty good -- I especially like Babette. I've seen too many dresses that don't look... feathery enough, and just look like 'Solo In The Spotlight Barbie' instead.

I don't really like the Madame de la Grande Bouche costume, though. It looks pretty halfhearted, particularly when compared with the other costumes.

you can't really tell in that photo, its all silver and gold, and when it opens up I have a very wasp waist womanly figure inside where the drawers pull out. and paniers that the box part balances on.

That sounds nice. I think this photo is at a pretty bad angle for the costume, too. It would look a lot better head-on, which is how it would usually be, anyway.

Yeah I'd actually agree, they look good but I dont like Madame or the Cheesegrater, they just look like large boxes.

Not sure what the woman in the silver is, is she a salt pot?

The cutlery looks very good, I like that.

The napkins actually look like napkins, which I think is clever!

Not keen on Lumiere.

Cogsworth looks very different but I like it.

My favourite is Mrs Potts, I like that costume!

Not keen on Belle's hair, she looks a bit too much like Christine Daae
candlestickjay

I agree with Wolf about Belle, just don't like her hair. The rest looks really nice though. I especially like cheese grater. That just makes me happy. Smile

Madame is the most elaborate costume of all, it actually works when the doors open. It looks more like a real chest of drawers than the one on Bwy.

the silver thing is a wine decanter. there are about 10 more objects not shown in that photo. Belle's wigs are all new.

I actually like the wardrobe. That headpiece is insane. I find it odd that in a Proffessional show they dont have the see through cart for ship. BUt All in all it looks amazing.

Pioneer is one of the highest paying theatres in the country. the budget was probably around 3/4 million

Shocked

What is a "professional" show supposed to look like, in your opinion?

I think it's rather clear in the set/costuming that they had quite a bit of money to throw around for a production like this...

And Chev! I'm so glad that you're back onstage again! Smile

Sounds like you're going to have a blast!

I'm a bit indifferent to the costumes. However the set looks like it was great...I wish I could have seen more of the sets...as the set is what really gives it away to be a professional production, in my opinion, from looking at the picture, as well as Cogsworth and the flatware's costumes, which I thought were well designed and obviously a lot went into creating them.

Our set will have nothing to do w/ what you see in those photos, only the costumes. Our set is all original and still being built. I've only seen the watercolors.

Ah. How is it looking? In my sister's production, the set was also exclusively built for them, as they were the premiere high school in the WNY region. They ended up selling/renting their set and their costumes to other schools. So much can be done with the set for this show.
Chevstriss

I haven't seen any of it. I haven't had clearance to enter the actual theatre space yet. I think we get on the set friday.
