Hey everyone! I was just wondering if anyone has been to an open call audition for "Rent" and if you have could you please share your experience? Thanks! [b]

I went a number of years ago and it was the same as any other cattle call you would go to. We got there early, got a number then went in one at a time and sang our 16 bars (not from a broadway show) a capella then if they liked you they gave you a ticket that you took to another room and sang again, then if they liked you, they gave yo a ticket and some music from the show and then you went into another room and you sang it for them. I don't know what happens after that, since I didn't make it any further.

If they don't like you---you get to go home early.

question...and I realize this thread is kind of old... but I was wondering, how would one find out about these open auditions?

I'm too young now, but mabye in a few years, it'd be fun just to try...
