i needed the script b/c im trying out and i want to make my "cold read" more like a "lukewarm read" but i got it from my friend so i dont need a copy anymore.
i could give you a copy, but i'd have to retype it myself (actually that wouldnt be aweful for me--id help me memorize, but itd probably take too long for you to get it)
you might also be able to find a copy at a library...but im not sure ive never looked for scripts at my library before.

you realize that directors dont want you ot have dialouge memorized for auditions dont you? once dialoge is memorized ..the way you deliver it is stuck in your head and a director may have a hard time shaping the actor's performance the way he or she wants it to be.
in other words..there is nothing worse than auditioning with memorized dialouge.

Actually ever director I have worked with has been impressed with the fact that I have prepared and some even insist on the dialogue being learnt .. the point being that they would like a person to bring there own character to the part and then just tweak it where needed.. a good director will work with what assets you have... every audition I have done without a book I have got the part
I understand that things may work dirfferently over the water but I have worked with both amateur and professional directors and to have the dialogue learnt before you start rehersals is a major plus as you are not distracted by holding a script.....
And of course the key..apperently to every audition is preparation and what better prep than knowing your lines and songs ... I think it shows that you are committed and havent just used a monologue that you have used for every single audition and could do in your sleep because after a while a director can tell that it is getting stale ....
Only my thoughts but they are mine ..

i agree. even if your memorization isnt perfectly to the directors preferences, you can act much better if you are familiar and comfortable with the script, rather than if you are having to do it with the script right up to your face the whole time; and if you had memorized it, then the only thing left to do is tweaking a few things, which is better than starting from scratch.
(by the by, im from "over the water" as you put it )

Didnt mean it disrepectfully (over the water) ...just meant that there are obviously going to be different ways of working.... that is what is so great about it you can get diffrerent perspectives .... and you dont have to agree with them but it is always good to keep your options open....
