Old D and the Vicarage

so Old D sits on the vicarage wall...
I want to pose a theory...or more like a question...
Is this vicarage an actual vicarage?
(vicarage |ˈvikərij|
noun
the residence of a vicar.
• historical the benefice or living of a vicar.)

Or is it the Vicarage Hotel?
A hotel in london very close to all the other locations in T.S. Elliot's poems and very close to where he lived...

It probably does not have a correct answer, just thought I'd mention it.

Opinion

to be 100% correct, you need TSE to answer this, but you need a seance for that...

In the poem, the Vicarage Wall sounds like he is sitting on the boundary fence, probably a brick one, not on top of a hotel. Later, he sits in High Street on Market Day. Then, we have bullocks, sheep, and villagers. Clearly, we are not in London proper... Finally, we have the Fox and Hound, which sounds like a rural pub.

My vote is the wall outside the Vicarage.

Respectfully submitted,
