Oklahoma! - New Candlelight Dinner Theatre (Ardentown, DE)For Immediate ReleaseContact: Maureen T. Cotellese Rogers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma Ardentown, DE- Oklahoma will open at The New Candlelight Theatre on June 6th and will run until July 25th. This classic musical by Broadway favorites, Richard Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein tells the story of two lovers: Curly, a rough but whole-hearted cowboy, and Laurey, a sweet and innocent small-town girl. Though never easy, these two opposites attract and find their way with the love and support of those around them making this the perfect event for the whole family. Oklahoma is filled with never forgotten songs like "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'", "People Will Say We're in Love" and of course "Oklahoma!" Leading the cast of Oklahoma is Mrs. Erica Scanlon Harr as Laurey and Mr. John Baccaro as Curly. Ms. Scanlon is no stranger to the New Candlelight stage having performed in Sound of Music (Maria), Man of La Mancha (Aldonza) and most recently Footloose (Ethel McCormack). Ms. Scanlon, who is also former Miss New Jersey (2004), received a MFA in Acting from the New School for Drama in NYC as well as a BA in Music Theatre/Vocal Performance for West Virginia Wesleyan College. Mr. Baccaro (Curly) is a third year student at Rowan University (Degree: Music Education K-12) and co-founder of Rowan University's Musical Theatre Company. Last seen in Carmen (Escamillo) at the University, Mr. Baccaro is classically trained under the direction of Ms. Marian Stieber. Other recent credits include Brad in The Rocky Horror Show at Collingswood Scottish Rite Theatre and Willard in Footloose at The Ritz Theatre. The Supporting Cast The supporting cast for Oklahoma features the talents of familiar as well as newcomers to the Candlelight stage including: Brian Peeke (Willard in NCT's Footloose) as Will Parker, Caitlin Reilly as Ado Annie, Gerri Weagraff as Aunt Eller, Paul Weagraff as Ali Hakim, Dale Martin as Jud, Joseph Kinsolving as Andrew Carnes. The ensemble cast features: Kaylan Wetzel (Ariel Moore in NCT's Footloose), Kevin Hurley, David McConney, Alex Kacala, Dann Dunn, Vincent Celeiro, Jessica O'Brien, Justina Ercole, Colleen Kreisel, Jade Froeder, Jamison O'Brien, Daisy Zimmerman and Kaylan Saunders. Swing cast includes: Lindsey Mauck and Bonni Jones. The Production Team The production team is led by director Paul Goodman along with choreographer, Dann Dunn. Musical direction is by Steve Weatherman, costume design by Bonni Jones, set and lighting design by Chris Alberts and production stage management by Jackie Goldwurm. |
