Oh my. Why do people do this?I decided to check out some of the google videos under "Rent" and a majority of them are pure crap. The Mimi in the first vid is a bit... It's not that she's fat... her clothes just don't fit. I also like how you can hear the curtain at the beginning.
And I believe this was in a talent show of some sort. Not an amateur production of Rent. And about the second video... are people not allowed to have a little fun while they make their cupcakes? |

Yeah, the first vid is obviously some kind of talent show... I didn't much care for that, I guess! The Roger was definitely lacking, though I love how his microphone went out at various points of the song... An "accident"? I think not.  His timing was also a bit off in the end. The girl singing Mimi's part started out reasonably well, but towards the end she just kept getting worse and worse. And that outfit!--Definitely did not fit her well, and it was so un-Mimi. Where's the bright blue spandex? Lol.
As for the second video... It made me chuckle, and then scoff when I realized she was listening to the soundtrack, not the OBCR. But, eh, I'd say she has some potential; she looked pretty young. And she was only having some fun with her cupcakes. At any rate, I want some cupcakes now. Hehe.

Those are both painful in their own ways.
I am always on youtube looking for new RENT clips (I must say- if you're bored enough, RENT in 4 minutes is worth a few laughs), and there is so much on there that is crap. I would be humiliated if I was some of the people who have put up videos on there. |

But I must say, the best part of "RENT in 4 minutes" is the line "come on, guys, chill." For some reason, that line sounds really funny sped up. Another favourite is "This Ain't Boheme"- man, that one makes me laugh. |

Yeah, the accompanist guy seems to be in his own little world. This video has long been my favorite. I love the running in place, the pointing to the moon on "your hair in the moonlight", and the banana peel stash. Plus I love the description- "It's a song about Mimi and Roger." |

Haha...I've seen tons of vids of people recording themselves singing RENT songs, but the cupcakes just made it so completly wierd haha. I hope she was home alone. I wouldn't want to be seen or heard doing that...which poses the question: Why the hell would she put it online?? |
