Re: Official Costume For Sale And Other Stuff
Ooo, I'd rather have the Robert Heindel 'Tugger' poster than the Coricopat costume. |
||
| Belle |
heh - I'll buy the costume, sell you the poster? |
||
| abbeycat |
I cant believe the jacket went for only 30 quid....it costs at least 70 to buy the jacket when you are a cast member,and then some if you want it personalised. I cant think who 'TC' (Tony) is from the original UK tour, i assume crew member, Im drawing a blank......
| Nemi |
The Coricopat costume makes me melt... oh, how I wish I had a Coricopat of my own...
*glares at her Carbucketty-esque boyfriend and sighs* Atleast I've got a ShadowBalurina of my own. |

Hmmm... interesting... I'm very broke, buuutttt....
Anyway, I think this piece of CATS memorabilia should get the award for "Most Random"... http://cgi.ebay.com/1988-MISTOFFELEES-FROM-CATS-LEGGS-LG-COLOR-AD_W0QQitemZ8391227578QQcategoryZ52460QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Mistoffelees' is such a corporate whore... *snicker* I'm curious, there's always a lot of stuff on Ebay claiming to be "CATS" related (don't get me started on those Italian Charms...). I'm always a little leery when I see the sketches (for instance). I've never heard of those being offered, and while they look legit, they could also be pretty common somewhere outside of where I live... The ones that also confuse me are the ones like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/MARIONETTE-PUPPET-Broadway-stage-musical-play-CATS_W0QQitemZ7594632663QQcategoryZ778QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/CATS-Broadway-Musical-Doll-w-Ticket-dated-June19-1997_W0QQitemZ6258169422QQcategoryZ100QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Those are just two types of dolls I've seen offered as "official" CATS merchandise. I've seen the show twice and I've never seen them offered. I remember, however, those type of dolls being the rage in the 80s... can anyone shed any light? |

*scream* Not those things again. |
||
| Jelliclaw |
I need that Coricopat costume. Badly.

Those are some things to keep an eye on. Were the dolls sold in the Winter Garden Theater, but weren't exactly official merchandise?
| Cassandra |
Hah! Deal.... With regards to those scary marionette dolls... I've never seen them sold in direct connection to the show here in the US. The only official place I saw them for sale was in the Stella merchandise catalog for Cats in Hamburg. I think the eBay sellers just tag on the Cats name to get people to pay more attention to their auctions. I would think it would piss RUG off to see the name being connected with unofficial merchandise. Though I'm guessing RUG can't make eBay take the auctions down, since the items aren't using the official logo or anything. |

Hmm...hey Belle if I get it? Want to sell me your Tantomile wig?
|
||
| Smudge |
I totally just bought that. I've always loved that ad! |
||
| Belle |
Depends... Have you won the lottery recently? |
||
| Drumdraper |
Umm...sure! I just won $500 gajillion dollars! Will you accept that?
| MzGalinda |
Heh, good luck Drumdraper. Belle won't sell me her Tugger wig! |
||
| abbeycat |
okay! own up! who bought Coricopat? Was JUST going to bid on it as it was the last day to find that bidding has ended early (no bids!) as item is no longer for sale....so who got it? |
||
| Munkujerry |
Not me..sadly! Now, i wouldn't wait the last day to bid |
||
| abbeycat |
I always wait until the last day to bid,I dont see the point of bidding early on,I usually bid in the last few seconds too (yep Im that evil cow,lol!) wouldnt have really bid but was tempted as there were no bids yet, aw well......*keeps money for rainy day* |
||
| Belle |
I was really prepared to spend quite a lot to get that costume!!! So pretty! Now I'm sad...
Bad, evil bad person who bought it off-Ebay... |
||
| Drumdraper |
Grr...same here. I'm curious enough to email the seller and ask why he took it off. Maybe someone didn't buy it.
| Belle |
Someone will have offered him like, £300 for it, and because no-one had bid yet he thought no-one was GOING to bid- SO wrong!
| Drumdraper |
Hey, what can you do? | ||
| abbeycat |
Or we could just pool all our money and actually buy Oliver Tydman himself,lol!....
but yes, feels like I was working damn hard last week for a reason, now that reason has just disappeared off my wage slip. |
||
| Misto |
I agree abbeycat. he is sooo nice. When I bought a costume off him, I told him I wanted to be an actor and he sent me an autograoh, saying "follow your dreams" and sent me a great e-mail with advice! When I bought the costume I bid with 9 seconds to go! I bid £205.01 (bid a penny higher, great eBay trick!) and did not meet the reserve so he offered it to me for £250 via e-mail! Anyways.....

Just noticed. The shoes in that auction were size 8 1/2, but mine are 5. Strange....

| Drumdraper |
Hey Misto, are the shoes perhaps in the British shoe size system and different from the American.
Maybe the shoes were his wife's. Didn't she play Tantomile? |
||
| Misto |
Couln't be. He's only played him in London.
Oh, I see what you mean! He was saying in American rather than British. Ahhh..... Misto |
