Five years ago last week, one of the girls was cast as the Minstrel and I got Dauntless because the director needed me opposite the powerhouses playing Fred and the Queen. Huge compliment, I know...but at the time I was pissed because I had already been Dauntless before and I REALLY wanted the Minstrel. I feel so vindicated now.

I was a lord, Lord Bryan. Made up name, so all ensemble members felt special basically. But it was fun anyway, and it got me into a great childrens theatre program I still work for!

I was Winnifred in my HS production last year. Performing that role was amazing and it was hysterical, but the drama during rehearsals when the other girls were basically against me was hell.

I personally prefer the revival recording with SJP. I like some of the different arrangments they do, especially with "Quiet," and "the Spanish Panic," and all of the voices (including SJP's) sound really good.

I've never listened to the Original, but I downloaded the revival on iTunes when I found out what show we were doing this year so I could be familiar with it. But the music is extreamly different from the one the lisenced version uses.

But I LOVE listening to it anyway.

I think both are worth listening to. The Original is great but I really prefer the Revival's Dauntless. Just a personal opinion.

I'm currently just started pratices for OUAM. I'm a lady in waiting and unoffical understudy for Lady Larken(my director asked me to read Larken's lines while our Larken was gone). I'm disapointed to be in the chorus, but as of today I have realized why. I need to control a handful of jr. high girls in the chorus who have no idea what the heck they are doing out there on that stage.
