Yet another "audition song help" post!Hey guys, I may be auditioning for a community theatre production of Annie this summer. It was my first show 13 years ago, so it holds a special place in my heart.
I am 26 years old, 5'6", curvy (I've recently lost 25 pounds and am still losing, so I am no longer "overweight", hehehehe). I have a strong belt, but also a strong soprano voice, though it is more of a dramatic soprano rather than a "sweet" soprano.
I am traditionally a character actress. Past parts I have played include:
The Sour Kangaroo in Seussical
Albert's Mother in Bye Bye Birdie
Emily in State Fair
The girl who sings "Bless the Lord my Soul" in Godspell
Soloist in a revue singing "The Song That Goes like This" from Spamalot and the female solo in "Seasons of Love".
I would ideally like to be Miss Hannigan, but I suspect that at age 26, I may be a little too young, but I would like to tailor my audition to suggest that part, as well as possibly Lily St. Regis.
Some of my past audition songs include:
"Hold On" from the Secret Garden
"Mister Snow" from Carousel
"Good Morning, Baltimore" from Hairspray
"Waiting for Life" from Once on this Island
Can you give me any suggestions? I appreciate it!
