What Is This Feeling?

If it were to make a return... what theater should house it?

What theater would be ideal to host Miss Saigon if it made a Broadway revival? Where B'way house should house this show?

I don't like the Broadway. The distance between the first row and orchestra pit is way too far and it's basically a cave.

I vote for the Imperial (even though it isn't in the poll). Large, yet intimate.

I voted for the Gershwin, I think it is great because it is one of the larges houses, and ideal to house the production, since the production is big. Hence the mega-musical.

Mega-musicals don't have to be mounted in caves in order to be enjoyed. In fact, the more inimate the auditorium, the better. Stage size is a whole different thing.

the Gershwin has a wonderful stage size though. About the cave though, well, sometimes it works. I would pee in my pants, if it were announced that it was making a comeback at the Gershwin, and make Wicked move. Have you ever seen thhe Gershwin, or been in it, it is absolutely beautiful.

Hmm... it would be kind of cool if it played at the Broadhurst after Les Mis ended. Les Mis and Miss Saigon probably the two most similar and frequently associated with each other shows in the world (for obvious reasons) and it would be kind of interesting if it returned to the Broadhurst directly after Les Mis. It ain't gonna happen, but a girl can hope.

Besides, there could never be a revival because they are never going to find another Kim to fit Lea's shoes enough to be called "the original Broadway Kim."

I voted St. James though because it has an AWESOME mezzaine.

Oh, ye of little faith. Lea is not the end-all/be-all of anything.

There is sooo much talent out there, Eponine93. Of course they could easily find someone else to play the role of Kim and do it justice. Lea Salonga didn't play Kim for the entire duration of the Broadway run, ya know? There have already been several others who have succeeded Lea in the role.

Yeh, thats true. Maybe Jasmine Trias could play her, she might pull it off. But yeh, if Miss Saigon played at the Gershwin, it would be indescribable. I can really see it in the Gershwin. I think it would be the perfect house for it. Very Happy

No. I would love to see a new Kim. I think many people out there are going to be like that.

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear. I think Lea's Kim is good but there definitely good be better. But I think people who don't really know or love the show besides Lea won't be able to see another Kim as the original.
