Ha! i ended up shouting at my group in Drama cuz we are doing The Wizard Of Oz & i'm Elphie *feels proud*.

I just did that to the drama group I attend!!! Everyone was giving me the you're crazy look. Laughing

ha! i find it fun Razz

I came up with another 2 from my exsperiences.

- You scream in the middle of a clothes shop 'cuz one of the workers is named Kerry or has the same name anyone else to do with Wicked (My parents gave me a weird look)

- You look at your autographed Program everyday and feel special that you got a kiss at the end of the autograph from 1/most/all cast people. Very Happy

Actually, it was in a grocery store, well the lady at the check out desk was named Shoshana, so I started thinking of Shoshana Bean! So I finally started yelling about it in the parkinglot. (I was with my sisters, they told me I was starting to loose it!" Laughing

I've never seen Wicked live, but I will in Feb., I look at my sister's autographed Prgram almost everyday when she's out and about. I spend hours looking at it. Laughing

Isn't it kind of hard to see the show if you're passed out?
xKerryisElphabax

-if someone says something that is sort of like a line or a lyric from one of the songs you start singing that part of the song or u say the line in the voice of the character.

-if you start talking about wicked all your friends groan rly loudly together and start rolling their eyes but you dont care cos ur talking about wicked!!

-you can talk about it to someone else who is as obsessed as you are for hours on end!

-you know exactly how you would sing Elphaba or glinda's songs if you played the character (including the riffs you'd put in and what you'd look like when u were singing it)

-if you have defyed gravity with a hover whist cleaning ur room and listing to the soundtrack or listening to it on youtube!

i hav hav experience of all of these!

-When you have Glinda written on your math folder with a pic, too. And Elphaba on your writing. (Teachers got mad!)
-You start refering to u and that cute popular boy as Fyero and Elphaba, forbidden to love! (My friends are getting pretty sick of that!)
-You sing 'Popular' as you pick out your clothes and brush ur hair to school. (What? It helps me focus.)
-You have been seen standing on a chair in last years halloween costume (u were a witch) playing 'defying gravity'. (mom: "What are you doing?!")
-For next years halloween you insist that u and ur 2 bffs go as Elphaba, Glinda, and Nessarose. ( bffs: "No!" We are going as Glinda, Cowardly lion, scarecrow, tin girl, and Dorathy. d'oh! )
-When talking about beneavolent characters, you mention Glinda. (Also mentioned witch of the west, but classmates thought I was just crazy)
Kerry_ROCKS!

On Wicked day, you run like crazy and climb on the top of the central statue, painted green in full Elphaba costume to sing the End of Defying Gravity in front of 100s of people while they all stare at you, some filming, some singing, some clapping, and some just lookin at you like your plain crazy

When you go to NY(even though you don't live there) just to see the show 2 times in one day. Well that didn't happen yet but it will on Feb.13th. I couldn't afford a room for 2 days so I decided to see the mat and evening show in the same day.

Why is it a trip gone to waste? I go to NY about once or twice a month anyway to see shows and to catch a Yankees game.
Jeez why is everyone making a big deal that I'm gonna see the show twice. My friend had an extra ticket for the mat. and since I'm gonna be in NY for the evening show I said I'd go with them.

When...
you woke up at 1:00 AM on December 7, 2007, so you could be the first person to order the German cast recording of "Wicked", (it came on the 21st)

whenever you see someone wearing a Wicked shirt or any other type of "Wicked"-related clothing you ask where they got it (which production) and how many times they've seen "Wicked"

you have multiple copies of the book "Wicked" (including one autographed by Gregory Maguire)

you are seriously considering taking a "Wicked" trip this August to see 9 productions of "Wicked" in 21 days (Broadway, Los Angeles, Chicago, Ottawa, London, Stuttgart, Tokyo, Osaka, Melbourne)

you email Stephen Schwartz to advise him on where to open future productions of "Wicked" but you always get a response from his assistant saying that they are considering foreign productions of Wicked

You know all the acronyms for Wicked

You have experimented in playing the Broadway and German cast recordings at the same time to see what it sounds like

every time you play defying gravity, during the interlude, you rush to your kitchen where you conveniently have your broom and hat set up so you can simulate flying during the "So if you care to find me/Sucht mich am himmel dort" part

I didn't do this because Oliver Thompsett was right in front of me and I was like: "Hhhhhi Oli!"

But anyway, this girl, about 17 just got to the front and the cast recording was playing in the background and she and her friends were miming to it and playin all the characters. Nadine and Oli were sniggering. Really funny! She was about as mad as Jess is from YouTube!

For your birthday, your best friend superimposed your face over Glinda's and made it into a card for you. Everyone laughed knowingly. Smile
FlamingGiraffes

Your obsessed with Wicked when during theatre rehearsals the director calls for someone to put the music on and everyone turns to you and yells, "No, not Wicked."
Echo

I didn't quite realize how obsessed I've been until I did enough background reading that I came to believe that the faked death ending in the musical is not cheap, and in fact is the only way the musical's story arc could end and stay true to Baum's vision of Oz. (Ironically the ending of the novel also quite true to Baum; the Elphaba character is just on such a different trajectory that the ending for the character had to be different.)

It's not so much that I came up with this theory, because I'm always thinking about stuff like that. More that I expected other people would actually care. Embarassed
