Just because the song itself isn't extremely special, it doesn't mean the person singing it doesn't need to be special to make it really work. Not many can truly pull off the song and make it work. Mr. Green

Its not the song that's difficult. Its the place in the vocal range at which the person needs to belt that is a bit high for some who don't have proper technique/range and the fact that many high schoolers tend to try to mimic Idina and end up screaming it. Which is why its better to save Defying Gravity till a. your voice has matured more and b. you're at the point in your vocal study where you realize your voice is your own and its not healthy to try to force it to sound anything its not.

Man, this whole thread is starting to sound like a broken record. First, someone comes and challenges Defying Gravity, and second, someone says that it's the technique that the high schoolers lack. Not to be mean, but read all of the posts before you decide to throw out comments with no backup. Wink
