uk tour

has anyone seen the new uk tour yet?
im seeing it next week and am worried i'll be dissapointed.
i loved the last tour and saw it 5 times. part of the reason it was so fantastic was not just the music but the incredible design. since the new tour is more minimalistic (or so i hear) i dont think it will be so good.
what do you think? and, to those who have seen it, is it just as good?

It didn't bother me as much as I'd expected it to, I think partly because it doesn't look as if it's been done on the cheap. If anything I'd say it's just become a bit more intimate. You should still enjoy yourself.

cool. thanks. yeah, i did think it might look cheap, but its good to hear it dont.
i do love my sets though, i cant get enough of a show thats got an amazing set... i dont know what it is, but ever since i was a kid ive loved seeing all the sets move and all that. lol

I think I remember reading that they'd focused heavily on making the Helicoptor scene even better etc. That's great and everything lol, but there is a lot more to the show!

Anyway, let us know what you think?!

yeah, obviously i dont think that the set is the whole thing. im just sayin how i like sets, obviously i think the score is AMAZING for miss saigon!
diva!

i seen it...it was amazing.

at first i was a little disappointed...the very beginning to the overture was great, but the mic's were, im sure, very quiet when they began to sing...the same on the heat is on..(this was annoying because its one of my favourite songs) however once we got to movie in my mind all was working well.

the set was really good...i never saw the previous tour but i thought it worked really well. the helicopter scene is really clever, they use a projection on a screen- and although im not really a fan of projections it worked really well. that whole scene infact was mind-blowing, the moving about of the gates to the embassy etc..great!

everyone in the cast was really strong as well. i can honestly say there was no weak link. perhaps the guy who played john (would find his name but i cant find my programme) wasnt AS good as the others, it was fine cause he still did a good job i thought- ellen was very very good aswell.

for most, i think the engineer stole the show but i was most impressed with the girl who played kim she was amazing- and the little boy as Tam was ADORABLE.

anyway im hardly very good at "reviews" but this was my honest opinion..

finally: ultimate fave scene in it: the bit where Kim kills Thuy- sent shivers down my spine Smile

cool, thanks diva! im really lookin forward to seeing it next week now Very Happy
not suprised the engineer stole the show, its partly the character, but hes always cast so well!
