Roxanne

I'll have to keep my dependable hockey mask on hand, then. It's so very handy for occassions such as those. Wink I love you, too, Nemi. And you've no reason to hit me anyway, your dolls are fantastic enough. XP

I played around with different image formats, I can't get the images to upload any clearer.

I did, however, finish another doll. US Tour Bombalurina. Also on a base from Historical Dolls.

- - - - -

I really wish I knew of a better picture format, Bombalurina was so much brighter in her original form. Pretty golds and such. Grr, I say, grr.
Spylfyr

They are fantastic Roxanne!!! My favourite would definitely be the US Tour Jellylorum, she is so lovely and pretty! Very Happy Now I want to do some dolling...unfortunately I don't have any other programs except for paint, and like you I'm too lazy to do it pixel by pixel!

No, unfortunately! Sad Did you see it? What was it like? I became a fan of Cats after the tent tour when I saw it on the video a couple of years ago. I haven't seen the live production yet, but I really want to some day!

Yes - *cough* 16 times actually (Give me a break - I did work experience on the show!)

It was FANTASTIC. The talent was just phenomenal (sp?)
If you're interested PM me and I can tell you about it more with photos and such.

Cheers!

Roxanne, PNG format saves pictures exactly as they are, no goofy color distortion. But the pictures are much bigger in terms of bytes or whatever.
Akeyla

I have relisted my older CATS SCULPTURES FOR SALE.
go here if you are interested in giving one of them a home.

http://www.macavity.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1204

please note that they are old works from back then when I trained my clay skills, they are all done with much love and attention to the detail, I am not listing them because I want to get rid of them, but because I believe that they can make a fan happier and the back of my dusty cabinet.
with exceptions to the gift works done for theatre/actors you cannot order these from me, as custom, or ever buy a new one again.
Back when made they were intended for my personal collection/gifts to actors. However, now, years later, my cabinets are overflowing with sculptures. some have to leave...

Prices are mainly the material, the curing cost (special oven) the freaky handling of terra cotta (most of them travelled miles to reach the oven) and my coffe costs Smile
Some prices are highter, those works are more detailed and required more dedication than those who are simple busts.
Please read on macavity.org for more details Smile

I did this based my friend's internet alias(still trying to decide whether or not to show her). Can't remember where I got the base. Mostly done in MSPaint, but I cheated on the hair and used PSP7. It(the hair) should be a Victoria-style wig, but I couldn't figure out how to do that on this base and I had already finished the rest of it. I do like how it turned out, especially considering it's my first completed doll of any kind in ages, let alone CATS.
Stargazer

THe base is by Celebaith Wink What you can start to do when you save bases go (nameofsiteofbase) Female

Example: Celebaith Female; Celebaith Female2; DreamsofElysion Couple

etc. Save them into their seperate folders as well... if you arent going to put them into folders (like Female, Male, Couple, etc) then go Female Celebaith Female Celebaith2 etc.. you then remember where you got it and just go to your favorites and find the link Smile
Moongewl

I do that already, but I saved it as WM1 which I figured out stood for Whisper Mists, but I couldn't have remembered that without the mention of Celeblaith.
Roller Boy

I actually REALLY like that costume design on the doll. I think that would make a very interesting, and attractively unique Stage costume.

Wink I would love to see a fan costume, a'la'originale' ne?
Nemi

My first doll of any canon CATS characters in a long while...

Base - Hope Cafe
Saved as a graphic thanks to the stupid .gif monster

Sorry if you don't like Jemima/Quaxo Razz. The female just screamed Jemima or Sillabub to me, and I felt Quaxo would be a good choice for the male...
Saffity

excuse my ignorance... i really am sorry... i'm sure I knew at one point but i really don't know...

but what's Cannon?

-saff
Roxanne

I think canon characters are the main, really well known ones. Suffice to say, a lot of the CATS characters are canon characters. XP

I'm not positive of my loose definition, though.
Nemi

Canon characters are actual show characters.

Canon character examples:
Munkustrap
Mistoffelees
Electra
Pouncival

Non-Canon character examples:
Nemi
Roxanne

Lady Jemima

Wow, I love your dolls, Roxanne and Nemi! Wonderful job!
Lady Jemima

Here's a new signature I created--what do you think? I'm pretty pleased with it, seeing as I'm new to Photoshop. Very Happy Of course the lovely Lindsey Wise is in the front (she's one of my favorite CATS actresses.) Can you name the characters and which show each one are from?
Cassandra

Lovely work, Lady Jemima! I love it! I really need to get Photoshop again. That software rocks. Very Happy

Ummm... Japanese Sillabub, video Victoria, London Jemima, Broadway Bom, and Broadway Rumpleteazer (well, technically Etcetera)? The only one I'm really not sure of is Bom. Then again, I'm not that sure about Victoria, either. Wink
Lady Jemima

Almost correct, Cassandra! Wink Actually even I'm not sure exactly which Victoria it is, but I do know it isn't Video. Anyone else know? And can anyone identify Bom? Wink
Cassandra

Bom really looks like it could be Donna King from the OBC. But, again, I'm not positive. Smile
Roxanne

I'm pretty sure that Victoria is from Berlin....

Gorgeous banner. =) They're good fun to make, no?
Lady Jemima

Yay, Cass, you got it! It's Donna. Wink Thank you for the compliment, Roxanne, and for helping us identify Vikki! Yes, banners are so fun to make. Very Happy

Nemi

I just spent a very long time making dolls of Coricopat and Mungojerrie, my characters on The Jellicle Emergence.
My first time since I've been using PSP to not use the soften function...

Base - a The Underground exclusive
Spanish_Rumple

I think that you've done a great deal of work on them! They both look very delicate and detailed. Their make up looks great, although that base makes Mungo look a little bit kittenish (younger than the actual age I'd rather give him, which is just a bit younger than RTT, more or less like Plato or even a bit younger, but not a kitten). The shadows on the body parts are very well reached and the patterns on their unitards as well. And the backgrounds look pretty on them. Surprised

I really like your dolls Nemi! They look much more mature than the usual dolls that you used to work on. Those that had the same base but just different pattern. I know that the bases of Cori and Mungo are the same, but their expressions on their face look different and you made Coricopat look more serious and older than Mungojerrie. What I mean is that on the other dolls I didn't really notice much differences.

By the way, what is PSP? Is the short for Photoshop?
Nemi

Indeed. I used two different faces for the different dolls. Mungojerrie's is purposefully moure youthful looking (his mouth being slightly open and his eyes being taller at the corners). They both look younger than they should, but that's the nature of the base, really, and its roundness. I actually think Coricopat looks more kittenish than Mungojerrie in it... Not that I meant him to. As for Mungojerrie's age, I see him as about the age of Demeter (a rather young adult... older than a kitten/teen, of course, but still youthful).

I mainly used the same base so that I could make an animated avatar, and because they're for the same thing...

And I just really, really like that base a whole lot (It's what my Nemi avatar is on...).
Spylfyr

I thought it was short for Paint Shop Pro Confused
Nemi

Oh, yea, it is short for Paintshop Pro... I kinda forgot to answer that one...
Erikonil

Thought I'd toss this up to show how Tales From New Winter was evolving. It's a pretty nice two page spread this time. We're going to a rather minimal bit of grey scale, but I think it's coming along pretty well.

http://2wconline.com/newwinter_current.html
Roxanne

You guys, this comic is coming along so incredibly well. I'm always excited to see new pages up. =) Can't wait to see more forum characters added. XP Very very cool.
Roller Boy

I'm partial to New Winter...but I like Aozora too...Oh the angst of picking a fav...

Diavolo & Skaft or Capricorn?

I got these porcelain cat faces from Santa about 3 years ago and I just found them in my drawer...they're PERFECT (almost) for making Cats faces!!!!!! They came with a really bad childs plastic brush and paints, so I used my mom's acrylics. ^-^ They're reeeealy small and I'm not skilled with a paintbrush but it was heaps of fun!!! Here's my result:

Smudge

omg, TOO CUTE!!!! I love them
Drumdraper

If you have more you should turn them into a charm bracelet.
VictoriaTWC

Those are too cute. I used to paint face masks and make pins wayyyyy looonnnggg time ago, early 90's. Crafts are good.

VTWC
enkeli-kitten

Thank you!!! ^-^ I only have three, but maybe I could make a necklace from them! (I wouldn't like poreclain on my wrist, cos they might break, also they aren't as small as charms, they're about 6cm each way. but what a cool idea, a cats charm bracelet!!!)

Quote:
I used to paint face masks and make pins

Cool! Did you make Cats masks? I don't know how to make masks. How do you make pins??
Spylfyr

They're adorable Felina (well, I guess I really should call you enkeli-kitten...)! Very Happy Nice job!
Nemi

I did rather the same thing from some little clay masks I bought at the Dollar Tree... I also made some CATS-masks for the cabaret that I was in which we sang "The Old Gumbie Cat" (I sang Bombalurina's part, Amabella sang Jennyanydots')... I took pictures on my phone, but not with a camera... suck... I gave the masks to the people who sang the parts, so all I have is mine... maybe it's still in my car...
enkeli-kitten

(Spylfyr, you can can me Felina if you want to! As long as other people know who it is ^_~ Felina is my Cats name, anyway, although on this site the username was already taken.)

Cats masks sound so cool! If I see some blank masks in the craft shop I will get them and paint them!!!! ^-^
Nemi

Papier Mache them. The hard plastic ones can get expensive... buy one, then papier mache the rest. THe ones I made were kind of shape that didn't cover the mouth or lower face... we had to be able to sing in them Razz.

I've done this, and sold a few. I loved them, and miss them a lot, but they have no place in my home. I'll have to search for the pictures I have of them and upload so taht you can see my results. I used quite a few techniques, and as I said was pleased with the results...but you have to be careful. There are two masks out there, and one looks very feminine, and one looks a little less...make sure you don't use a really feminine one on a male *giggle* I'll try to dig up my picutres for you.

Sadie

EDIT: Found them...here you go:

http://divinitydolls.poisonousroses.us/sadie/masks

A few were made by Balurina ~ the tant, the munk...

I'm proudest of the alonzo. The demeter was an attempt to wig it...didn't work so good Wink
enkeli-kitten

They're sooo cool!!!! I love them! Cassandra's is very pretty and Plato too. Next time I get to town I am definetely looking for a plastic mask base!! Then I can papier mache them like Nemi said. I hope there's a shop with them!!!! Or, I think I've seen those thin plastic ones around that you get in packs....they probably wouldn't paint very well though.
Roxanne

The plastic ones are definitely a little flimsier (from what I've seen, the cheap ones anyway), and they probably don't take all paints well, but I'd imagine if you had good quality acrylics, it'd be fine.....

This sounds like much fun to try....they might be easier to sell than my wigheads, too. Laughing *trying to save living money for college* Also great fun in and of themselves.... I need to go get some more acrylics. >.>
SadieCass

I did just use the plastics ones from JoAnnes/Michaels. I used acrylics, and they went on fine...didn't even need to rough up the surface. To finish, I got a high gloss coat and coated teh whole thing. For a small investment, they sold well. I might have gotten lucky, though, found a buyer that jsut really liked them. I still have one left to sell and he's jumping at the chance.

Anyway, I also got the blending stuff for things like Cass's cheeks and such. It really helped.

*runs away before snowflakes drive her bonkers*
Erikonil

Well, for all of you talented peeps who did thoses masks, kudos. THey look wicked Cool

Any chance of seeing a Skimbleshanks one anytime soon? Wink

Jellicle_Jule

Happy Holidays, y'all! <blink> I really should try and get on here more. Sad Anyway, Now that my scanner's finally back in commission, I'm taking requests again. I'm here with a couple more made-up Jellicles--my own! Very Happy

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/26845642/ Aida, the Cat of the New Moon and my very first created Jellicle. She's a flighty thing, fragile, graceful, quiet...and quite gullible. Pretty though. No relations to the Jellicles we know. Yet. Razz

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/26845830/ Jessifer Jules, the Lucky Kitten. She's a tortoiseshell tabby with an affinity for games of luck/chance, as her name implies, and is almost seen as a good-luck bringer herself. Bahaha, three guesses who her parents are. Razz

So, if anyone wants their Jellicle drawn, let me know! Very Happy I'll actually attemtpt to stick around this time. Razz

Roxanne

SadieCass and enkeli-kitten, your inspiration knudged me in Michael's the other day. Wink

I picked up one of those plastic masks (I got a smaller half-mask as well that I'll start on soon) and have painted it up. It's a Moscow-style Demeter, painted with Reeve's brand acrylics and with glitter over her eyes. She'll eventually be sold because I don't have much of a place for her, and getting more funds will give me an excuse to buy more masks and paints. ^_^ It's good fun.

pkitty663

OH MY GOSH THOSE ARE BEATUIFUL...hey Rox...how much are you willing to sell Demeter for?
Erikonil

That looks fantastic Roxanne! The shading and the addition of the metalics is amazing. Hopefully you'll show us a few more when you make them.
Roxanne

Can do. =) It's looking like this one has a buyer all ready....

I've just finished the half-mask, though, he's loosely based on Jack Ribaldi's London Munkustrap makeup. Very cute. =)

The full masks (assuming I do more, which I want to) are gonna be about $20 + shipping, and the half-masks'll be $10 +shipping, give or take a few depending on how complex I get. Commissions are welcome. These things are so much fun. >.< Laughing

Cheers.
Jemima57

The Demeter mask is.... splendid.
Arix

The Demeter mask is seriously beautiful. Smile
Nemi

I love you Roxanne. You are so amazing. Beautiful doens't begin to describe that Demeter mask...
Roxanne

I'm willing to take a request for another one. I definitely want to do more, and it's so hard to choose which design to do, there are so many that I love. Laughing
enkeli-kitten

Awesome Demeter mask, Roxanne!!!!!! I love the glitter!!!
Guess what, I found a whole stack of blank plastic masks in Toyworld!!! *bounces* Buut...I had no money!!! *cries* I was taking my cousin to buy Lego with his xmas money while my aunt grocery shopped, and I was totally broke after buying presents. BUT now I know where they are. And next time I go to Toyworld...I'M BUYING MASKS TO DECORATE!!!!!!!!!!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
Arix

You've inspired me to have a go at painting some masks, but I spent all my money on my Narnia soundtrack so I'll have to wait a couple of weeks before I can buy a blank mask to actually decorate.
(Maybe I'll do some Narnia based theme, for me mum or something.*she's obsessed*)
pkitty663

oooo I love Narnia. Edmund was good looking when he was older...well he did!
Soloque

Roxanne.....really now, is there any end to your talent? Those masks are absolutly stunning. They are gorgeous!
Stargazer

These aren't CATS dolls, but dolls that I did for the UG for the Candy Ball which really didn't get off the ground... lol

Whoooo! Tales From New Witner will be getting t-shirts printed up in the next month so I thought I'd start tossing up my design ideas to see what people thought.

This is the first one, with our heros chibified. There will be some text below them on the actual shirt though.

Whadda think sirs?

Nemi

I pretty sure the one image in the middle sold the idea to me Razz

Diavolo? Oh yeah...he's the marketable one Laughing

Erikonil wrote:

Iiii dunno, I can think of a certain fan contingent who would be very taken with Skaft's chibi-fied armour looking quite a bit like chaps Cool

... poor Kori, so scowly ^_^
Roxanne

They're adorable. O.O

I'd definitely be tempted to purchase one....definitely.... >.>
Nemi

Oh, mind that Kori has my heart, no doubt. But Diavolo has some nice little magic-y, smiley action going on.
Erikonil

Excellent! The plane to use chibi's to lure people in is a success! Cool

All the guys there are in the costumes that they'll be wearing in the next story arc. Skaft does change into a pants/chaps outfit and believe me, we will be showing the shopping scene where he has to get that Twisted Evil

Kori's gonna get a more scholerly outfit to match his sister's (who will be showing up at the end of this current story) and Diavolo is perfection, so he'll be keeping the short pants.

I'll get the final design up for everyone to see ASAP.
QuaxoCoricopat

C'est Tres CUTE, Erikonil!!! Kori is so adorable with his grumpy expression.

Skaft reminds me of when little kids run around pretending to be superman in their underwear...

And Diavolo... well, I've got a soft spot for short pyromanics....
