I made a new CATS dollz today. Just messing around with photoshop. I swear its so much easier to make dollz in PaintShopPro than Photoshop. Anyhoo, here's the result:

I usually use a photo of a real cats image from my collection, and then "Pixel" over it. Its a fast way to get their "ears" right. I used the Denmark Jemima photo for her wig. I need to do more work on my computer art if and when I get a new pressure sensitive drawing tablet. I HATE using a mouse to do comp artwork. Its a pain. I hope to do more of them when I have the patience and time. A WACO tablet would work wonders on my art.

I actually made a CATS doll for the first time in a long time. It's not completed (to me), because I don't have the paint program I like to use...but it's fine for now until I get my program back. Anyway, here she is...she's Sandoval, my made up character for my CATS fic (I'm beginning to rewrite it so it won't be posted for some time)...

Yup, the three in the foreground are based on Misto, Munk and Coricopat. The flipping girl is based on Rumpleteazer and the jumping guy is based on Mungojerrie. The queen is indeed based on Cassandra and the one with the braids is based on Victoria. The two you missed are the two in the middle. And I can understand why since this is still in black and white. The tom is based on Alonzo (London colors, American tough-guy attitude) and the queen is based on Demeter. *offers a whole cookie as prize* We don't do partial cookies.

That's why we decided to go against the grain a bit with her. We're taking the Demeter who jumps Macavity and unmasked him instead. |

Very nice. Looking forward to seeing more. Just curious, what are the alternate names of all of the characters from the show? I can see that Diavolo is Misto, Munk is Skaft, Kori is Coricopat, and Jenga is Mungojerrie. Oh, I think you had named Kori's sister as Aria? I assume that's Tantomile? Any more character descriptions going to go up or are just the three main characters descriptions going to be up? (Heh, why am I not surprised that Kori is the leader of the group?)

We'll be adding more bios as characters get introduced. We'll also be adding more in-depth bios as the series goes on as well.
Let's see, some other alternate names... Rumpleteazer is Salto Alonzo is Sambal Demeter is Jokaste Tugger is Trassel Tantomile is Aria Sometimes we get a lucky break and get to use names. Since names like Cassandra and Victoria are common, we can get away with using them. And yeah, there's going to be a lot in the way of CATS references for those who can find them.

I could tell that right away. Diavolo has the 'devilish' reference in it the same as Mistoffelees.....or rather Mistophelees (Or however the spelling goes). Kori is a different spelling of Cori which is short for Coricopat. Skaft...hmm..I have no idea how you came to that name. Salto, Sambal, and Jokaste are from other language productions (Copenhagen {without the 'Sally' part} Antwerp, and Finland).... Just looked up the others. Trassal is from the Stockholm production. Don't know how to connect Aria to Tantomile.

I'd just like to announce that I will, beginning next week, hold an art contest to the subject of cathumans (will post more information aswell charactere sheets soon).Deadline August 1st. The prices you can win are custom artwork of any kind based by the hour (witha value up to 200, get an idea of what I do: http://www.cathuman.com/comission/comission/comissionakeyla.html ), aswell in addition scetches and small sculptures for honorable mention, most creative/original and most active contestant. I am holding this contest because for the past months alot of people have requested trades from me and I cannot fulfill all trades asked, aswell it would be unfair to only choose on random. This is a chance if my prices are out of your range (I am sorry, I cannot lower them more) or if you missed the annual auction. Rules of artwork submitted: its must be the subject of the reference sheets, but it can be ANY, and I do mean ANY medium you wish (be crative, this includes photography, written art,... heck, you can even sing a song, just be creative!) ). Under the rules of artwork submitted, which reference sheets do you speak of ('it must be the subject of the reference sheets')? Do you mean it must be cathuman subject matter, or something else? Sorry if it's blatantly obvious.

My paints and canvas are packed away for college, since when we moved into our new house, we had to downsize increadibly. It was basically either my clothes, or my art supplies... So even if I was confident enough in my skill to paint for the contest, I would have to wait until August 18th... when I'll be busy moving in to college, and taking classes, and working building sets 15 hours a week for the theatre department..... fun. Yea, that was going a little off topic. So, yea. |

Ok so I didnt have a computer for 9 months so I didnt do any dolling of anysort. But now that I got a lap top last month Ive been making up for lost time I am not doing AS many cats dolls as I use to but here are a few Ive done within the past month

I worked for HOURS on this oekaki picture. I worked my tail off to say the least. In fact, it could be an understatement? And for what? The layers to royally screw up and so I am stuck with a clashing solid magenta 'background', replacing what I had hoped to be some junk and a brilliant star-filled sky with a gleaming moon. And so, I present to you, 6+ hours of work down the drain:
Sorry for large size. I'd resize it but I'm too busy trying to get over the loss of my hard work and what I had hoped to be my first archive since I started oekaki-ing three years ago... *sigh* It was my first shot at lineless art and fur-texturing. The texture on the shoulder fluffs were rushed. I'd fix it..but..the applet and layers merged and are overall being a b*tch and can't be fixed. Overly dramatic? Oh yes. |

Hey, I would like to help you if I can.. What program did you use? Any program I have that creates layers, this problem CAN be fixed if you are willing to work at it a litte.. =) Just very carfully, using a masking brush/tool, get the whole magenta color selected, and if you did it carfully, when you delete the color, your beautiful cat should still be intacted, and if you make her an new layer, then you can fix any slighty rough edges.. Then you can continue with creating the background. =) I have done this before also, I thought I was going to die when I thought I lost my work, but I spent time on doing this and everything worked out fine. =) Maby this will help you.. But, your picture is great! The background doesnt look bad! And who knows, you could use it, like make it a glow around her if you dont wish to do the editing. =) Love her though! Yes, characters change. >.> Back when Roxanne was a Mary-Sue (waaaay back... *cringe*), she was really bright orange and yellow striped, like Rumpelteazer except more beautiful. Perfect ,even.
