O/T....but are the snowflakes driving anyone else crazy?

Arrrrg! Go away, snow! Is there any way to keep them from appearing on this website? Confused
Roller Boy

OH I do so LOVE THEM!!!!

Spylfyr

Not exactly festive for us Aussies! Wink
Jemima57

I also love the snowflakes Very Happy I'm sorry but I don't know if you can stop them Confused
enkeli-kitten

*gangs up with Spylfyr* Not festive at all!!! ^_~

Actually they freaked me out at first cos there was all these image icons floating down and I thought it was a virus or something. !! Yep, I'm strange...

They are quite annoying but kind of cute too! I can pretend it's a white christmas now!
MrsJemimaMistoffelees

I love the snowflakes. They are so pretty! ^_^

They're kind of pretty, I suppose, but I have to work too hard to ignore them. When one goes halfway off the screen, I get a scrollbar on the bottom. It disappears and reappears at will. That's the most annoying bit, I think. Other than that, they're fine. As long as they don't stay forever .XP

One of the mods must've put it in the main forum code or something, because it's all over all of the forums. I don't think there's anyway for a user to turn it off on their computer specifically.
Nemi

Snowflakes make me happy... like, sites I'm on added them within the past few days...

Yay! Snow!

Me too. It makes me think I'm getting an IM or something cuz it's right in line with my toolbar...

It's driving me a little batty too, Lady Jem!
JellicleCatMew

I don't think the mods can do that. I can't anyhow. Sally must have done it, I guess. Smile

They'll probably be the only snow I see this season.
Rumblepurr

'Tis the Season...

I agree - we lowlanders in SOCAL only see snow up in the hills and mountains most of the time... As for the Aussies in our midst? I have an Aussie friend who would relish this... well, if it were actually snowing, that is. That would mean the temps finally went down... and the unbearable heat was gone...

I like it... White snowflakes on a white background...

In SOCAL - we know it's Christmas when people put lights in the Palm Trees... Cool
Tigress

I'm not going to go through and read everyone's posts but I think their beautiful. I hope they stay till spring. Smile

In Florida you know it's Christmas when you see lights on trailers. No joke, I drove by a trailer park and there had to be ten trailers completely decked out front to back.

Trailer parks, sure, but palm trees still stand, too. XP I drove my sister around looking at lights last night (she's eight), and there were a few houses with those 20-30 foot trees decked out aaaaall the way up. Insanity.

We also saw a house with an alligator in the yard. ^_^ Like those reindeer made from lights, but a gator.... Very Floridian. Cool
Mixu

Speaking of Christmas lights, check out this video. You might not like the music (I do), but someone has put a lot of efford to make that. Wish I could do somethink like that..

Oh YAY, the snowflakes are gone! *cheers* They were festive, but I was having serious trouble writing and reading posts. Wink
Spylfyr

That's a really cool video Mixu! Laughing I think it almost gave me a headache though, what with all those flashing lights! Shocked
Drumdraper

I saw this on ebaumsworld. Anyone know how they did this?
Soloque

they are like mutant snowflakes that try to get in your nose and mouth so you cant breathe and they can take over the world. Thank goodness they are gone for now. Except the beautiful sludge that outlines our streets.

Not to mention Im a Cali girl so my snow walking abilities (matched with my natural clumsy-ness) are not so finally tuned and makes it all that much harder to walk without breaking something.

~Soloque who really is around by beyond busy with the holidays.
Tigress

Three things:

1) Who's the kill joy who killed the snowflakes? They were so pretty.

2) AWSOME VIDEO!!!

3) EVAN??? How? WHY? Is he back???

Not true Rumplebur, what the heck do you call that stuff that's been falling on Main St after the fireworks @ Disneyland?
Rumblepurr

Snowflakes @ Dizzyland

Unless they have changed the machines used on Main Street, the "snow" is actually "soap bubbles!" Notice please that nothing "sticks..." (except your shoes from errant pieces of gum...) on the sidewalks and street.

I know... Mickey Claus will put coal in my sock (the ones I am wearing) for ruining your perception of this night-time wonder...

Regards & Holiday Cheer...

That evil foam that makes your hair all sticky and icky, oh how I loath foam snow. my friend and I saw Winnie The Pooh LIVE (yes its true) and they 'snow foam' the entire audience, I was pretty much under my chair at that point.
JellicleCatMew

Too bad the snowflakes are gone...they were pretty.
Drumdraper

You sure it's not ash from fireworks going off? Hehehe, burn mickey burn!
Filakatessa

I honestly can't see the snowflakes that you are talking about...but then again, I'm using Firefox and it might be cancelling them out.

I'll have to take a look at it with IE I suppose

Sadly, they were taken off of the site a couple of days ago. Such a shame! They were so pretty! Sad

LOL, probably me by mentioning it. (But in all reality it probably wasn't me.) Wink
Cassandra

Nah, it wasn't you. There were a lot of complaints about them (here, on the Misc. Forum, etc). Seems that quite a few people were having problems with their browser because of the snowflakes, and many people found them to be quite annoying, too (*raises hand*).

So yeah... I wouldn't worry about it. I don't think it was just you that got the snowflakes taken away. Wink
