O/T - Daphne in Rocky Horror?Is it just me, or does anyone have trouble listening to the Rocky Horror revival with Daphne Ruben-Vega? I just can't stop thinking of Mimi every time I hear her sing! Plus, I don't like what she does with Magenta's role.Thoughts? |

I don't know about Rocky Horror, but I can't watch or listen to her performance as Fantine in Les Mis without thinking of her Mimi. I Dreamed a Dream and Out Tonight really aren't the best songs to have stuck in your head at the same time. | ||

i have mixed feelings about her Magenta. mostly because i prefer Jamie Donnelly - from the '74 Roxie cast and the '75 Broadway cast. however, i never had/have any problems with her as Magenta as far as getting Mimi outta my head. i can usually get into a show enough to see the character they're playing at the present time. | ||

yes. the 2000 new broadway recording. Tom [gag me] Hewitt, Kristen Lee Kelly, Lea [horrible dyke singer] DeLaria, Jarrod Emick, Raul Esparza, Dick Cavett, and of course Daphne. also from RENT: Aiko Nakasone, who was in the chorus of RENT and Rocky, but did play Columbia - as understudy. not a bad Columbia.
