O/T An Odd Question

Does anyone know/know where I can find the choreography from the finale of the film "Center Stage" (the dance to the song "Canned Heat")?

Hint

Please do not take this wrong, but such a question might be best answered on the MISCELLANEOUS Forum. On that particular Forum, you get a wider range of people who might be able to answer your inquiry.

I'd thought of that, but I thought I'd try here first since I'm a bit frightened of some of those people on the Miscellaneous forum. They'll bash you for just about anything.

Ha...and people here won't?

Point Taken

Claws in, Smudge, dear...

True about MISCELLANEOUS Forum... However, go in with a rather non-descript avatar (icon), and ask respectfully, and you might get an answer without too many flames... Watch out for the innocuous "Why don't you try Google before bothering us..." though...

Good Luck...

Quite frankly I'd ask around here before I'd ask in the Misc Forum--I used to pop in there occasionally and every time I did I'd wind up turned off by the attitude there. And coming from me...well, that's saying something. I'd simply rather remain here and one of the queens of Snark, rather than go there where I'm nice in comparison. Yes, I know these are flagrant generalizations, and I haven't actually stopped in there lately. I'm lazy, and generalizations are easy.

I also figured that there was a good chance that there were some dancers here, CATS being a dance musical and all. I did post on the MISC and didn't get flamed. Didn't get much help either, but oh well. *shrug*

This may sound daft but i suggest getting the dvd and playing the scene back slowly over and over until you or someone else can write down the steps/ memorize the steps. (i have no idea how your dancing is sorry if it sounds patronising but i dont know you, just throwing in my 2 cents!)
most dancers (that would be me im referring to not anyone else on this board, lol)have certain ways of writing down moves in a shorthand that only they can decipher (try getting my dance captains to take a class for me and they run away as they dont get what the heck im on about with a piece of paper with squiggles and doodles on it!)
sorry i cant be any more help but it probably is the only way short of actually pinning down the choreographer.
or why not use the moves as a base for your own work? try and improve on what already exists, you may surprise yourself by coming up with something fresh! after all Gillian Lynne had to start somewhere or we'd never have the jellicle ball! lol!

So true! Very Happy I was actually getting the choreography as a help for an audition piece I was quite stuck on. The only reason I asked was to see if by chance anyone happened to have the choreography already, as I don't own the movie, but I've been perfectly ready to write it down myself! Thanks everyone for your help.

P.S. abbeycat, the thing you said about the dancers writing in shorthand cracked me up because I was just thinking the same thing the other day while I was writing down a dance in shorthand. Laughing
