Non-Eq at Equity Auditions?

Hey, I never used to even look at the Equity Audition section of Backstage but recently I overheard people talking at an audition about how she went to an Equity audition and wasnt equity and still got to audition....

What do u guys think about this? Anyone have any experience with this?

apparently you have to wait a verrrrrrry long time to be seen.
