NEW YORK ACCENT....missing letters out?

A few people have told me that in the womans solo, u shoudnt pronouce HUNDRED like it has been with the chorus. For the first few sections HUNDRED is pronounced right and then in the first solo, it should be sang: 'HUN'RED' ...missing out the first D. Is this right?
They also say in the solo, you should say 'TWENY FIVE' rather than 'TWENTY FIVE' ....missing out the T.

I imagine its to give a more 'New york street' sound but does it sound bad to say the words properly?

Really, people say that? I've never heard anyone say that. Personally, I don't really pay attention to how she pronounces it.

Well, I just listened to a few different versions with different soloists, and they all kind-of seemed to say "tweny five." I didn't notice "hun'red," though. Then again, it could be my hearing. Plus, every actress does it differently.

This might just be me, but I think it would be hard not to annunciate (sp?) that song. There are just so many sillables, it just doesn't seem right. When I sing the song (just walking around the house or whatever) I have a some trouble fitting my mouth around all of those sillables without properly warming up. It's just natural to annunciate it. It would actually take some practice for me to do the New York accent.

Of course, it might be different for normal people. Laughing
