New ALW Show

It's been announced that ALW will write a new musical based on a Russian novel "The Master and Margarita"

Interesting idea, I just don't know if ALW has any more music inside him. He said he is looking for a collaborator which I'm sure means lyrics. Interesting if he could get Sondheim but I doubt it and I think Sondheim's talent is probably spent as well.

It sounds like an interesting idea...it could work...

Why would you ever thing that Sondheim would collaborate with Webber. The two produce vastly different pieces of theatre. I think Sondheim would sooner agree to write the sequel to Wicked or Children of Eden, than work with Webber.

ALW and SJS sort of collaborated on Duelling Pianos, so I doubt they hate eachother.

How?

As far as I can understand, they write shows for very different reasons and purposes. I don't really comprehend how they should be able to share the vision of a musical.
