New ALW Show....CAT

ALW is doing a new show based on a Russian novel The Master and Margarita

Oddly, it also features a talking cat...well...come to think, maybe that's not so strange after all. Razz

Hopefully, it won't turn into a musical version of the Warren Beatty film "Reds". Still, should be interesting to see ALW's take on Stalin's Soviet Union.

Ladies and gentlemen, will ALW's newest show be a master flop or mega hit? Will he recycle old music in his new musical? Is he doing something with a talking cat because people may think they are seeing another jellicle come to stage?

If the cat sings Memory at the end of the second act we will know ALW really has run out of ideas, but who knows maybe it will be good.

Do we think the Cat will be in costume similar to our beloved Cats, will he have facial prosthetics to make him look less like a cat from Cats, or will it be a puppet?... so many questions!

This is funny. I am actually excited about this show, I think it is the first ALW show that wont be so shallow, since well, Evita.

This is sort of daring for ALW I think yeah. Yes, he ahs done daring before but this is in a whole different light.

For the cat I should hope or think the prosthetics/puppet style would be the way to go, if it is the same style as a cats character costume it's a sort of easy way out and will indeed have the critics ripping chunks if flesh from the show's high standard it will desire.
So many people are going to be watching this development very carefuly, hold your breath andy!

I think the talking cat, will be metophoric, or something different. I dont think you can expect a Jellicle or a puppet or something of that sort.
Of course ALW loves to rehash things.

I am excited about this project actually, because it sounds interesting. I think the potential of this being a good ALW show, is pretty high...

I am also interested although I think I am more intrigued and curious than excited. I'm not expecting it to be bad but can see it turning into something perhaps overly bizarre depending on how he plays it.
