Need your help- pumpkin carving ideas

This is for work- each year the resort has a competition between departments for pumpkin decorating/carving. We won last year. We did a pumkin made to look like a lady at the spa (put in marbles for eyes, made eybrows, red pepper for lips, towel on her head and filled rubber gloves with the pumpkin goop that was 'soaking' in a bowl in front of her like she was getting a manicure). It was very cute. But I have no ideas for this year and we need to carve it this week!!

It can be a cool design, or something that is more like decorating . Some of the other pumkins last year were:
- a pumpkin filled with a pretty autumn flower arrangement
- a pumkin turned into a carriage (pulled by toy horses)
- a pumpkin turned into a house for a bunch of mice (mice and decorations were edible- this was from the food and beverage dept.)

SO- we need something for my department, the SPA... something that conveys relaxation... or some 'spa' aspect. Either a pattern to carve or some decoration idea.

This might be a stupid idea, but I was thinking about your hand idea... if you did a similar design with hands again, you could put a pumpkin seed on top of each finger to be the fingernails... then you could have them being filed or painted or something. Also, what do you think of cucumber slices for eyes?

how about a long narrow pumpkin carved into a tub, filled with sparkling plastic beads for water with a smaller pumpkin or gourd made into a witch soaking with a blissful look on her face? you could even carve her face and put those little battery op tea lights under the beads and in her head to make it glow.

Hmm... the tub soaking idea is neat, because we do have a bathing ritual. I was trying to think of something to do with the springs or water! Smile
I'll e-mail my boss and let her know.

Any more?
