Need a Good Nose Prothstetic

Not sure if this is the right place to put this thread, but here goes. I can't find what I'm looking for anywhere online. Nothing fancy. I just want it bigger. Should I consider latex? Thanks.

Laughing Cool d'oh!

Anyways, usually any costume shops have them. Even if there's some clear rubber band on the back so you can just strap the nose to your face, those work well too. I thought it would look stupid for our elephant trunk in Just So, but no one saw the elastic at all!

I'm playing Mr. Mushnik and our director wants me to go for full-on stereotypical jew, for some reason. I'm a skinny little freckled kid! We have no budget so our costumes are basically up to us. Confused [/b]

Can you use nose puddy or liquid latex?
PappyCat

I've seen awesome things done with puddy and latex!

I'm considering puddy and latex. I've never used it before personally, but I'm hoping a certain cast member I have in mind can help me.

I don't know about nose putty... you'd better hope you've got some experienced cast members. We have big tubs of nose putty sitting in our theater room, and none of us know how to use it. =[
Phantom On A Budget

I realize this thread is a bit old, but I thought I'd offer a few notes on using nose putty/mortician's wax. Nose putty is pretty useful, especially for simplicity's sake and if you're on a budget. Basic instructions go something like this:

- Thoroughly wash face
- apply spirit gum to all areas of the nose to be covered by the putty
- allow the spirit gum to set for a few seconds, then tap it with your finger until tacky
- dab cotton balls all over the spirit gum so that there is a thin covering of cotton (acts as an anchor for the putty). Remove excess cotton fibers
- take the desired amount of wax and work it in your hands to warm and soften it, then place it over the spirit gum and cotton
- carefully spread the putty (wet your fingers with rubbing alcohol if the putty sticks to them)
- once the putty is smoothed down and "finished," seal with one or two thin layers of liquid latex
- Cover and blend with makeup
