my poll about the new forums

Sally has given us 3 lovely new forums. Of course they do not have to be used exclusively for these subjects just generally and I want to know what you think of them. Please post you oninons as well as voting because polls can be squewed by people with more than one user name.
Kad

The issue was NEVER with the forums. It was about you moving topics into them. It was unneeded. If they're just *general*, you shouldn't be trying to "encourage" growth by moving topics around.

And frankly, that poll is the most ---- ridiculous thing I have seen you do.

You should talk.

You and your fellow whiners epitomize all that is ridiculous about this forum as of late.
Aimee

Banning was never the issue. That's what your poll was about.

It didn't say Should threads pertaining to Andrew Llyod Webber, Stephen Sondheim, or "other shows" be moved from the Miscellaneous forum?

It said Should threads pertaining to Andrew Llyod Webber, Stephen Sondheim, or "other shows" be banned from the Miscellaneous forum?

You are now trying to say your poll was about moving things. It wasn't it was about banning topics.

As I say your poll asked a question that nobody in their right mind would agree with, not even me so the responce was preordained. I merely mocked it gently and with humour by my poll.

For the record..... I don't want to ban topics here on the misc, I just want the new forums to be great, interesting and an asset to M.net.

Stop trying to be a martyr and the "voice of reason" that you AREN'T. YOU surely aren't part of the problem, right? Because YOU don't get involved in arguments. YOU don't incite arguments. Isn't that so?

You know what is ridiculous? People like you. Hypocrites in denial, who scold anyone they don't agree with and yet pretend they do no wrong at all. People who incite everything that is done to them and then scold people for doing it. People who think that contributing a verbose post and not ever follow through with anything they say is all they have to do.

You're not better than ANYONE here. Stop pretending that you are.

And if the majority of posters feel so inclined, they will be.

(I don't think the majority of posters will feel so inclined, but I'm hardly going to mind if they are.)

Now stop trying to help them.

Thank you.

The truth is refreshing to know, for once.

I always had a feeling you people resent me because you think I think I'm better than everyone else.

You're wrong - that's the core of the problem.
Aimee

Are you saying moving a few posts is scolding people?? That's a bit strong isn't it as this is what its about?

You want people to stop thinking that? Stop acting like it.
Kad

And Aimee- seriously, a little over the line with Jesus there.
Salome

I think its stupid that she didnt give us an Alan Jay Lerner Forum..or a Cole porter forum..they were better and bigger than Webber.

Nice package.

Kad wrote:

Well, that's the thing. He acts like he thinks he's better than everyone else - but that doesn't necessarily mean he actually thinks it. This is indeed a case of putting words into his mouth. (Or, more accurately, thoughts into his mind.)

What's objectively true is that

(1) he is insufferably sanctimonious

and

(2) if that sanctimoniousness is in fact the result of him thinking he's better than everybody else, then the problem isn't the sentiment itself (nothing wrong with a little healthy egotism), but rather that he demonstrably isn't even equal to a lot of the posters in this forum.

Write a musical about it.

It just might boost your ego.

It's like you're on reruns.

This is what forums do. Every other forum I've ever posted in, you have a forum for the subject and a forum for off-topic. If you post in the wrong section it gets moved - chiefly to make it easier for other users looking for things. These new forums are in my opinion the most intelligent forum situation we've ever had here. And moving topics IS what moderators are for. They edit/delete things that break the rules and move stuff that's in the wrong place, it's just simple housekeeping.

I've come to the conclusion that they don't want to understand it.

That's more than just sad, it's pathetic.

And the rest of us have to pay for it.

I'll be in their faces as long as I have to pay for their idiocy.

I think we're sorted on this now. Smile

i voted to embrace the new forums. i say if we got 'em why waste 'em?
Quique

^ And it's really that easy to understand, folks.

It isn't hard. Really.

----------------------------------------------------

On that note, I'm officially bored and disgusted by the rest of this board. Some people here are so easy, I actually feel sorry for them. I'll return when common sense and self-esteem makes a return engagement here at "M.net."

Ugh.

Until then - bye, bye. Very Happy

Don't miss me too much. Laughing

That shouldn't be too much of a problem.

In other words "you guys finally beat me down. Fonts last attack was too much for me to take. Later" - Quique
Aimee

The point is, this is a forum to talk about musicals and other interesting or fun subjects, not to attack other people.

That is the basic mistake all the people who have warnings are making, over and over and over again.
OnceUponATime

Ah.... subjectivity.

What you find interesting or fun might just offend me. And visa versa, dearie.
Aimee

And if it does offend you, you know what to do.

Contact a mod.

But that isn't my point. My point is that one member shouldn't be 'attacking' [Ciaron's word] another.

Here at Musicals.net we have one basic principle and that is that we expect people to post politely and not attack others. Everything the mods do is guided by that one fundamental conviction. If you disagree with that then you are in breach of the agreement you made when you joined because it says: [I pick out the appropriate section] You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit.
If you no longer agree with this let me know. Thank you.

A reminder of the agreement you made when you joined this forum.

While the administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable.

You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. OnceUponATime

Oh, Aimeee... I say potato, you say pahtahto.

Who would have thought that multiple, random conversations would offend you? Who would have thought that a picture of a brownie would have offended me?

And while I think it's generally agreed that transposing a picture of yourself upon the head of a crucified deity is indeed offensive, you did it still.

"You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar... material... Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed)." (edited parts out to expedite the matter and get to the crux of the problem)

Where's your warning? Or was that merely a temporary lack of judgement on your part and thus should be overlooked?

And I always make it a point to stay as polite as possible.
