MY high school's CATS

My High School always has a Summer Musical. This year, the Director bought rights to do CATS (yippee) and I am in it (mr.mistoffelees Laughing ). I sure hope my High School fills this Musical's expectations or else I'll never live with myself lol. here are some photos of a girl at drama class practicing Makeup on the Director of the show and my friend with makeup already on (these probably wont be the ACTUAL makeup designs they'll use so dont worry, we're keeping true to the show....except for the fact that instead of a Junkyard...we're doing a Contruction Site.... (lol).

(could somebody tell me what character this might be? Im still trying to guess....maybe Jellylorum?? maybe even Rumple though Rumpleteazer is way off if it IS her)

Griz's makeup is very different to the usual but I actually think its very nice, love the different colour swipes blended together.
Filakatessa

I tend to think that the first female is Jellylorum or Jennyanydots. I only say that because of the colouration and that the woman is older than one would be if they were a kitten.

I am really digging the make-up, however. It's very well done!

Good luck with the performaces, kepe the pictures coming! Very Happy

I like the concepts so far. My only concern is if they're planning on doing those black lines on the insides of the eyes and next to the nose on all the characters. It would look great on Griz, but it would have a tendency to make the rest of the cats look really old.

Just my $.02 Smile

My only concern with what is being shown here in the make up is that there seems to be a definite emphasis on broadenning the bidge of the nose, which DOES lend to a feline look, but more along the lines of big cats ("She's a LION" sums it up nicely) rather than a delicately built house cat, in which case narrowing the nose, visually, also allows more room for stark eye details, making the eyes appear wider and bigger, as a domestic cat's eyes are quite large for its head. On that note, a little more individualized detail in places like the eyes would be nice, too.

Beyond that, though, I really like that bright and/or solid colours are being used without restraint. There is no half-heartedness in the applications, these are definitely cat faces rather than actors who just had to throw on a nose, some sloppy lipstick and a real loose interpretation of eyeliner. I'm also liking the "furry" textured effect being utilized, though I hope it will not lend to overpowerring details like eyes and muzzle design. If that same furry look is carried through somehow in the unitards, the tie in would certainly be a visual plus.

It's off to a good start Smile

Moongewl

One thing I've noticed about Grizabella is that she usually has something completely unreal-looking, unnatural but pretty, in her makeup(often around the eyes). It's kind of like a signature, if that makes sense. You may want to consider adding some sort of design along those lines to your Griz, but hey what do I know...
Etcetera Kitten

Lovely make-up! And I agree with the black nose lines thing as well. But so far the blending of lines looks so neat! ^^

I think that looks really good! I'm very impressed! The first one should definatly be Jennyanydots. It's got a lot of typical Jenny markings.
As for Griz, tell them to smear her lipstick. Yes, she looks pretty, but must also look run down, and not just on her costume and wig. So they should smear her lipstick. But, like Moongewl said, what do I know?

BTW, check the O/T Will You Marry Me? thread. I asked you to marry me, Mistoteazer. Wink

That definatly looks like Jellylorum to me! I'm really impressed with the makeup! The girl doing the makeup looks like she's had experience, has she? Because that's a great job for a first timer.
