my friends auditioning for Robin,Peggy, or SoniaSo we were going through songs and we kind of decided on the Wizard and I for her. I know it's a wicked song and HEAVEN FORBID you audition with a wicked song but truthfully are director really doesnt care what song you use as long as you sound good. She has the belting range to do everything and has a lovely voice. Wondering if it's a good idea. (Especially do the last like minuyte of the song)

I'm actually not sure about The Wizard and I as an audition song for Godspell. Not only because Wicked songs are generally no-nos but because, though both written by Schwartz, the shows musical styles are not all that similiar. I'd suggest trying to find something a bit more uptempo and fun or something that your friend could really show her own personality through. Of course, this is coming from the girl who used On My Own as her Godspell audition song (I was sixteen and completely ignorant of auditions that didn't require a song from the show).

Doing something from "Pippin" would be likely better, than "Wicked. Do something that was written during the 1960-1980 period time, of Broadway. Even though, Some Directors say that they dont care...Honestly, I think they do. Or they might be more impressed to hear something fresh, something innovative, that really shows off how you will handle a score that was written in the 1970's. I would be impressed, and be more likely to cast someone who did that, than someone who did not. (If I was the director)

This is so true. Try doing like "Simple Joys", or "Just Time Time At All"<- this song would be great for also acting.
