My Chicago review - Ldn

The show was in a top shape. I think the new ensemble are very good indeed. Alas back to the sexy shape. The girls are very hot, so are the boys! Love them!
Linzi Hateley (Roxie): Biggest aim to see the show was to see her! Got a new curly wig, which suited her better. And what can I say about her? She was fabulous! Never been better! She slimmed up quite abit, so looked SO nice as Roxie now!
Debbie Kurup (Velma): Was really thrilled to see her. She turned out to be abit of disappointment. She sang well, very long legs and that girl could dance. But she is too wild for me as Velma. I mean, she certainly could dance, but doesn't contain the Fosse style in her dancing.
Terence Maynard (Billy): Third time seeing him, was expecting to see Darius, but hey! HE wasn't bad, wasn't too great either. Definitely improved though! Another point is that he speaks way too soft and fast. Even I know the script well, I couldn't catch up with him!
Victor McGuire (Amos): I never really liked his Amos until today. Felt he's more into the role now, even not as sweet as Paul Baker's Amos, he is still very believable and did a great job.
Chrissie Hammond (Mama): Another aim to see the show is to see her! Her 'When You're Good To Mama' was great! But after that she was only fine. Her singing was definitely impressive, but there's something in her which doesn't get me as Mama!
Alex Weathermill (Mary Sunshine): Great as usual! Cudn't have reached the high notes better!
Female ensemble: Except from Sarah, I think all of them onstage tonight I haven't seen. They are all VERY sexy, slim and tall, and HOT! The go-to-hell kitty Lisa Norman wasn't fierce enough in my opinion.
Male ensemble: Some new guys added. I was just wandering, they had some chorepgraphy in 'Roxie' changed! I mean, at the end, some of them were doing hip-hop flip moves! I was like 'what the hell?! ' Anyway, the new boys still need some time to warm into their roles, but they are still pretty good. Glad to see them all new energetic... unlike some of the old ones who there like FOREVER! Have to say though, I wasn't impressed by Cristian Valle who played the Jury/Doctor. He missed his music action cues and wasn't great as the Jury... he didn't have that glassses on when squeezing Roxie's ass!
Overall, glad to see the show in good condition. Fresh, new, energetic new ensembles and in safe hands with the leads!
After the show, I went to stagedoor as usual. Got every main cast's autograph and picture, everyone seems to be hurrying away! Anyway, told some of the new girls how much I love them and thank you for their performance!

My friend got a spare tkt for tonight's show, so I went yet again! Laughing
The show was as brill, but Rachel Pressland as Mama morton. I was so excited as I have seen Chrissie the night before. Well, Linzi was more fab than she was since I last saw her the day before! She have some more bits of small jestures and moves. Debbie was alright, but said a word wrong before 'I Can't... Alone'. She said '... just drives me nu..rds..?' She was good. THe others were the same. Still don't understand why they have some hip-hop moves for the 'Roxie' ending! Anyway, back to the main point. Rachel was great as Mama! I actually thought was better than Chrissie! Her voice was sassy, couldn't reach some high notes, but overall, her singing was great! And I think if a few more performances, she will be more firm with her protrayal of the role and will be better! Don't take me wrong, her acting was great! She said 'notice how his voice never moves' before 'We Both Reach For The Gun' which I think confused quite abit of the audience! haha. Her 'Class' was good.
