Musicals with french lyricsOk, so i do this every year - some of you may remember, some may not. But I am looking for musicals that have been translated into french (I do bilingual versions of shows at a camp) I have done shows such as Annie, Mary Poppins, Sound of Music, Joseph..., Cats, Les Mis, Notre Dame etcI have already found the libretto.musicals.ru website Anyone feel like helping me out with a little detective work? It is hard to find translations out there. Sometimes they exist but they are hard to find. Sometimes people have done their own translations - I'll use those too. I am looking for shows that may be suitable to do with campers in different age ranges. IE Disney shows are fine for the little kids, but I am also looking for more difficult shows. I think Disney is out though, since I have pretty well exhausted the use of all of the disney movies already PS I have heard that Oklahoma and My Fair Lady have been translated but can't find the lyrics online. If you ever feel bored and want a mission, this is your chance! (the word for "lyrics" in french is "paroles" that may help anyone who acutally wants to go looking) Any leads are very much appreciated. |

A link to a CD called "Broadway-Montreal" by a french Canadian artist - Robert Marien.
I am assuming it is some kind of collection of songs, but there is not information on the songs that are on the CD. Do you care to elaborate? |

I don't have the CD on me, but it features his own French translations of several musicals which (at the time) had not been performed in French.
Here's the song list: 1 Le Fantôme de l'Opéra 2 La Musique de la nuit 3 Finir le chapeau (SitPwG) 4 Le Vaisseau d'or 5 Méchant amour (Gala) 6 The Kiss of the Spider Woman 7 I Got Life - Hair 8 Why God Why? 9 The Last Night of the World 10 Bui-Doi 11 Comme un homme 12 Final: C'est pour demain I don't read French, but it appears you can buy the songs for a Euro each on Starzik.com (the site disables direct linking). |
