Musical about Techies?

A musical about putting on a play (or musical) is nothing new. There have been musicals about the chorus, about the leads, and about putting on musical flops, just to reference a few more well-known ones. But a friend and I were talking, and we couldn't come up with a single musical centered around the life of the techies - the set builders and movers, the lighting and sound guys (and gals), and all those non-stagebound people who really *run* musicals.

Can anyone think of any musicals about techies?

I can't think of one, but I think it's a marvelous idea! I want to read it when you complete it.

Rodgers and Hammerstien's "Me And Juliet" has alot of techies as principal characters including the sub plot which centers on Ray Walston's character, the Stage Manager.

No, I can't think of any, but actually, that's a very interesting idea. I just finished up with being a techie for my high school's show, and trust me, more than enough stuff happened to make a plot out of....
I don't know whether or not it would sell well (as techies certainly aren't glamorous), but it would be a really intriguing project (at least to me). Very Happy

Damn - that's rather like what I was imagining. Thank you for the catch!

I'm flattered and amused - it's always been a dream of mine to help write a musical, but for a sophomore in college with little knowledge about the business...

Anyway, thank you both!
