Music Man ResearchI'm trying to do some research for the show as I was just cast in the role of Marian, and am finding absolutely nothing...can anyone give me any links or reccommendations, etc?Looking for info on Meredith Wilson, 1912 Iowa, and any tidbits as to the inspiration for characters, making of the musical, etc. (ie: the stuff posted in another thread about Goodnight My Someone and 76 Trombones being the same melody to different tempos is the kinda thing I'm also looking for). Any help is greatly appreciated - I just keep running into dead ends |

I don't know if this is what you're looking for or not, but hopefully it helps. I found a much longer one a while back, but I can't find it now, so this will have to do. |

Yeah, the link that hershey04 posted was really helpful when I did The Music Man. |

I know this is from a long time ago, but I thought it might help future generations of River City citizens.
The Music Man Dictionary: http://www.sewickley.org/~kcerny/LowerSchool/divisionmusical/TheMusicManDictionary.htm I googled "Mason City in 1912" and found some little interesting tidbits (like it produced more brick and tile in that year than any other city in the world). I also found out about the Music Man Square in Mason City (The complex includes a Meredith Willson museum, his boyhood home, and a River City Streetscape.) so I'm sure the website has some good information: http://www.themusicmansquare.org/ Hope that helps! |
