Mrs. Lovett Costuming on the Cheap

Dear MdNers,
I really would like to put together a decent Mrs. Lovett costume on the cheap this year. I would not want to spend more than $100 on my costume in it's entirit. How would you suggest going about putting together said costume? Creative and/or innovative ideas are more than welcome!
Thanks,
MusicalGal

Make it. Sew it. Bargain shop for fabric.

I made Movie!Johanna's blue dress for a little over $40.

I love Johanna's dress! I wish I knew how to sew though... Sad

When I find it. (The picture) ^^; It was my prom dress last year. It's a little lighter in colour than it is in the movie but I love it.

*goes off to take a picture of it flat.*

YES. FULLY AGREE.

I got all of the fabric for my dress at Hancock Fabrics on sale though.

EDIT: I found it! (My prom picture.) It's a fairly big file though.
Just a note, I haven't actually worn this as a costume, and I'll most likely turn it into a Christine costume in the long run.
Also, I am overweight. And in a poofy dress. Just a warning.

Lansbury!Lovett: easy to make, i'm sure. And cheap.

LuPwn!Lovett: more complicated but doable.

Movie!Lovett: start saving cash now.

hmmm...I would think LuPone Lovett wouldn't be too bad, because all you'd really have to do is a get a french maid outfit and alter it a little and add on black platrfrom shoes and torn tights. The black bob wouldn't be hard to do either, then again neither would the red-hair devil horn buns.
And Lansbury Lovett could be done fairly easily with thrift store shopping and sewing.

All of these are really good ideas.
I was thinking more along the lines of LuPone Lovett, because I don't have the cash for the fabulous movie Lovett. So I'll probably do some thrift store shopping, I have the boots already!
