more RTT videos??Are there somewhere any more videoclips of the RTT song? I wish I could see how was it like in other productions... I liked the Broadway version (was it that one that appears in one of the threads somewhere in this forum?) it's more jazzy? funky? more disco-like I'd rather say, than the video and even the Spanish version. I like it more, you know what? in this video RTT reminds me a bit of Michael Jackson in his early years (thriller..etc). It was fun watching it. |

If you're referring to the video on Marzi's website (http://www.utuvien.com/cats/md/catsmtv56k.ram), then that wasn't really how it was done on Broadway. That video was made especially for MTV back in the mid-1980's. They changed the choreography and made it sound a little more like 80's pop music to appeal to a younger crowd, I think.
The way it was actually performed on Broadway was very similar to what you see on the DVD or in other productions, like Spain. There were some slight changes to the choreography, I'm sure, but overall it looked pretty much the same. |

I see, so that was like an MTV videoclip...hmm I've liked it a lot! Who is that actor? (the role of RTT) he's so cool...
I wish I could see RTT in Japanese or one of the other versions, I know they're pretty much the same but I'm curious |

The Tugger from the MTV clip is Terrence Mann, the original Broadway Tugger.
The Japanese choreography is quite different from most of the other productions. It doesn't look like what we see on the DVD. So, that might be interesting to watch. And, although he now looks more like the Tuggers we're used to seeing (black with yellow leopard spots), the Japanese Tugger used to be all white! I'll see if I can find some pics. EDIT: Here is what he used to look like:
Here is what he looks like now (or in 2001, at least):

RTT an albino cat... that's quite unbeliavable but very imaginative!! I wonder how they came to this idea... Yeah, I've seen pics of this Tugger both the old and the new. I like how Munkustrap, Misto and Tugger looked like in the version just before this last one. Their colours were very bright and I liked Misto's ears pointed and white on both ends, on the other hand he looks even more magical with an oriental face and make-up. I found the video/london version (Jacob Brent) a bit too quittenish. For instance in The Jellicle Emergence they say that Mistoffelees is a cat of no certain gender and age... well to me the japaneese Misto is more loyal to that description.
But I'd still love to see a video clip of the japaneese RTT version... |
