Moon River as audition song?Would Moon River make a good audition song? I am a soprano and very similar to Barbara Streisand in diction etc. Any other suggestions are welcome as well. I was considering Bewitched or One Less Bell too but am having a hard time finding the sheet music in my key. My next audition is for Sound of Music.

Hmmm...well, I used it once at my first audition. I don't know how "good" of a song it is to use, but if it shows your range, I say go for it. I used it for an Anything Goes, and made it into the chorus. A bonus is that it's probably not used very often.

I don't think Moon River would be a good song for an SOM audition, but it could be a good song for other auditions, so I wouldn't completely scrap it.
I think that "Bewitched..." may even be a bit too legit for the role of Maria, which is what I'm going to assume you're going for.
Please correct me if I'm wrong and let me know what part you're going for and maybe I can better help you...

In either case, I would look at other R&H or L&L musicals...Camelot, MFL, Brigadoon, Cinderella, South Pacific, etc...
That will give you a good start...
